I agree!! I was in the city yesterday and I saw the sign at Virgin Megastore!!! I was sad because I knew I couldn't be there!

RENT beanie babies would be godsent. Mwuahaha. Or dolls. Mattel should team up with RENT! Except I can't really see that particular company marketing drag queens, bisexuals, and lesbians...aside from the other content that goes on in RENT.
I think a big factor that causes the disdain for Wicked threads is half the time they are started by trolls who purposely can't spell. The non trolls aren't always bashed if they have real questions and concerns regarding the show beyond how wonderful Ms. Menzel is as Elphaba and the Cheno as Galinda.

i really wanted to take a side trip to bloomingdales tomorrow to see the rent inspired clothing -- i not so secretly want a mark scarf like the one i saw in the window pictures. (we could be matching anthony

^Um...I know you don't want to pay that much for a scarf...well maybe you do. I just found it really ironic that the Mark scarfs were made by Betsey Johnson. (They aren't true to the color on stage or screen anyways...if I recall correctly)

I must say that the idea of Rent dolls is adorable, lol, if not a little weird. I love the pic from Adventures in Babysitting, that movie was so cute!

At least BWW will probably be fortunate enough to escape the onslaught of people who go to see the Rent movie and know nothing about it and come with a ton of questions. This board is kind of hard to find without some digging... at least I think so.

Two of my friends managed to go to an advance screening, they had no clue what RENT was about beyond the trailers. "YES I SECOND ______'S COMMENT CUZ I WENT WIT HER!! lol and boy is tha story line complicated haha i was kinda lost but finally got it/ it was veryyy goodddd" *le sigh* I still wonder how they got screening passes...I must ask them tomorrow.

Hello everyone! I have been reading your posts but havent had a chance to post in the last few days. Now I can sit down and do somthing productive (well productive to me).
Ok Anthonys interview LOVED it, even though i was at work, i watched it when i got home (god bless tivo).
RENT movie.... The theaters in my area have a list of the movies that will be coming to play in the next few months, RENT isn't on any of them! Also on the 23rd I will be working a ten hour day, bussiest day all year. Normally it would be my day off. ugh!
As for the RENT dolls I'd be freaked out, but I'd have all eight.
well here I am late in on the conversations as usual! go me.

As far as the wicked threads go, I agree that alot of it probably is due to indirect and general annoyance to the abundance of threads that are just made to make obnoxious comments etc but I still maintain that the obvious hatred of Wicked threads has gone a bit overboard. I can certainly understand and sympathize with feelings of frustration to those kinds of threads but on the other hand I also don't believe its fair to put those who post with genuine curiosity and wonder for the show through the kind of bashings that they will most likely go through. It's almost to a point where people are afraid to post Wicked-related topics in fear of being shot down by an angry mob. Alright, I'm done with the rant, its just a slightly frustrating and baffling topic to me.
Its the same deal with the sure flood of curious new RENT fans that will probably find their way here at some point with questions about the show/movie. If its a load of "Ahhh Adam is sooooo hot, I want to have his children!!" type deal well then yeah, the act gets old fast, but I'm sure for the most part its people with a genuine interest in the show and why not offer what knowledge we have of the show to them if they want to know. Sharing the RENT love right? I know when I first got into RENT, I would have loved to been able to talk to people who already knew alot about it. Anyways, yet another slightly random ramble for the day. :-P
On to happier notes, YES, down to one digit days til RENT is released!! And by some miracle of miracles, I have the 23rd off from school so I can have a full RENT day without being hindered by classes. HOORAY!! And while I agree, that I can't really see Mattell selling RENT dolls anytime soon, unrealistically speaking it'd be pretty awsome if they did. I'd buy. Haha I actually think he looks almost exactly the same in AIB. Well his facial shape does anyways, to me at least. Diff hair and he obviously looks younger but still very similar.

Adventures in Babysitting is the best movie. Ever. I loved it long before I even knew what Rent was. Right after I got the OBC, I was thinking to myself, "Hey, this Mark guy looks kinda familiar. Anthony Rapp? Never heard of him...lalalalala" Skip ahead a few days, I'm watching AiB "Lala...I love this mov-wha? Anthony Rapp? Mark! Wha? Daryl! Holy Shibby!"
