Back, after venturing off to do geo homework (blarrrrrgh)...
Glad I cracked up some of you. Many of my best friends have sick senses of humor - always amusing, if not sometimes disturbing. Dirty side comments/insinuations/whatevers are always add nice touches to any and all conversations, in my opinion. Taye always seems to have some kind of cool clothing item on.
I always feel a little tinge of pain whenever someone who is not a "theatre person" (like Joanne... haha. Except not really) starts to go gaga over Anthony or Adam or someone else that I've loved for a really long time. I just feel like they're posers. And that they don't deserve to be seen as an "Anthony Rapp lover" or an "Adam Pascal lover," just because they've only begun to see what these people are actually made of.
But then I have to stop and remind myself that I used to be one of those people, so I should shut up. *shrugs* Still hurts me, though.
WOW! We have a question for anthony? Amazing! (I was looking at the topic). And hey, I cam back after sleep, school, and rehearsal where I did nothing! I also had like three rent moments at school today!
Elphatine - I know exactly how you feel, just because my teacher asked me for a bonus question, how many minutes are in a year, and I was the only one who knew the answer, they all become "so called the biggest rent fans ever, " there nothing but Rent-Posers... THE WORST ONES OF ALL!!!!
OMG! I had the worst experience with a RENT poser today! She's a girl in my class! She kept saying how much she loved rent when she didn't even know that it was originally a musical!!!!
Ughh, I know, theres this one boy in my class, and so i asked him, "What is Rent about," he said, "It's about Aids, gays and cross-dressers," and then I was like, "Oh my God, you know nothing about Rent, it's about, finding love, no matter who it is, and living your life at the fullest." He really pissed me off today!
Tracie's was awesome. Now that's a normal reaction!
And I love that Taye knew where Anthony was when he got the call. And that he referred to his wife by her full name. Hehe. It's like no matter what the topic is, he's shilling her. That's so like me and some actors.
Adam has good car noises, but he has 2 sons, so he probably has had a lot of practice.

Well, it made perfect sense to me. I work with children and today I had to make rhinocerous noises. You learn to pick up on these things, because you never know when you'll have to use them!

I'm not saying all people who are turned onto Rent by way of the movie are posers - people might be generally thrilled by it, and in turn see the Broadway show, and all those things. The posers are the ones who see the movie and say "OMGZZ I loved it!!1!1!" when people ask, but don't follow through. That's just my opinion.
And Anthony - I dunno, just the sight of his face, or the sound of his voice, and this huge grin spreads across my face. It's like this: because he's so kind to everyone (especially the fans), and so... just wonderfully unique, and talented, and so kind, whenever I see him, even though I only met him once for a brief second, I feel like I'm looking into the face of an old friend.
I feel like I've known him for years. Because he's managed to stay real, among fame-crazed celebrities who have ultimately gone on to do bigger and not nessecarily better things, and who have lost the respect of many people. Do you realize that after he's become semi-famous, he still (sometimes) posts here (not that his posts are directed to us or this thread anymore, but still)? He doesn't have a huge ego (like some other people who were with him at the same starting point - we've already discussed that, though), and he probably never will. Or at least I hope not. And that is why we love Anthony, and why we still have tremendous respect for him.
Sorry, I know that was uber-long. But I needed to get it off my chest after that whole "poser" conversation.
P.S. Hahaha. Car noise practice. I can totally see him sitting there, practicing his car noises. Then his wife walks in or something and is like, "...Adam... what the hell are you doing?" "Oh, nothing. Just practicing my car noises. Vrrrooooooooom. Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooom." Adam's wife: *walks away, frightened* Rhino noises... interesting.
"How's the picture?" *looks* It's okay, his eyes are closed-ish, but people are waiting. "Oh, it's fine!" *Adam takes camera* "Yeah... well.... *makes 'I look so high!' face*
