Totally vote for In The Heights. It's a great score and the production qualities are amazing!

Without a doubt, nominate "Gypsy". It's one of the best produced cast albums ever, let alone of the past year.

I'd also recommend "In the Heights", "South Pacific", and the anniversary "Annie"; three really wonderfully executed albums.

As for "Lovemusik" - Is it really eligible? It seems like that album was released quite a while ago. Regardless, it's a lovely recording.

Nice to hear that "Annie" DOES have some supporters!! I appreciate all the comments and conversation so far........

While the award goes to the producers, and to writers if more than half the material has never been recorded before, surely NARAS doesn't expect people to vote for borderline songs and performances just because the sound quality or the orchestrations are good. And that is true for any category, not just this one.

So, let's consider all the aspects that make a show recording a good one--ALL aspects, whatever that means.

And you guys are the best!

Why so little LoveMusik fans? I thought the cast recording was fabulous.

"[Gore] was widely perceived as arrogant. If you know something, you're not smart. You're a smarty-pants. It's annoying. People get annoyed with your knowledge. It goes back to high school, to not doing your homework ... 'There's something I should know, I don't know why I should know it but someone knows it and I don't. So I'm going to have to make fun of him now.'" -Sarah Vowell, The Partly-Cloudy Patriot
