I'll be in New York and I have a Saturday night or Sunday free to see a matinee. I am already seeing the Saturday matinee of Cabaret. Keeping in mind that I'm from Chicago and go to school in DC so I can probably wait to see shows that are touring in the near future (unless the broadway cast is a must see). I'm considering between the following:
Matilda
A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Beautiful
What do you recommend?
Thank you!!
You really have picked four very different options, two of which have announced tours next year: Matilda and Beautiful. GGLAM is pretty awesome, and the cast is brilliant and won't be there forever.
If you're from Chicago, then how about seeing Chicago native Jessie Mueller in 'Beautiful'?
I agree that Matilda and Beautiful have announced tours, so my first thought was to skip those and to pick from the other two. Then again, I second the suggestion of going to see Jessie Mueller in Beautiful just-in-case she doesn't end up on the road with them. But hey, who knows?
That being said: Last nights rave reviews have made Curious Incident a must-see for a lot of people. I'm going tonight.

1. Gentleman's Guide .... one of my favorite theatre experiences of all time!
2. Curious Incident
3. Beautiful
4. Matilda (the show is great but it will be touring and there are no stars in it that are must-see like Jessie)
^ I agree 100%
A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is seriously such a fun show to watch... It was very well deserving of the Best Musical Tony!
I'd say GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE is the only really good show on your list, so go see that.
If you're doing 2-Gentleman's Guide and Curious Incident.
By far, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. However, Hedwig trumps all so see that.
Stageman is already seeing Cabaret in the afternoon ... a day filled with both Cabaret and Hedwig would be quite psychosexually exhausting!
