Being a member for a few months now, I've had the opportunity to read through the threads daily, and I was thinking about this in the car this morning...
What show (NOT performers, etc.) do we here really not agree is good? My single answer would be AIDA.
People seem to either love it or hate it.
Critics and Tony Nominators hated it... the fans seem to love it?
Your thoughts? Or do you think there is another that is up for grabs here?

You sure it's not Rent?
I'd say Rent, Chicago, and Gypsy.

RENT and Millie/Hairspray are probably the big ones, but we all have very different opinions, especially with the age differences.
I would say RENT...
Millie or Hairpsray
I agree with all of the choices so far.
I don't think that we're divided about millie....it's just that my opinion is right, and the others are wrong! =)
I don't think people are *that* split on CHICAGO. Most people like *the show* if not the current or (INSERT RANDOM CAST MEMBER FROM YEAR'S PAST, PRESENT OR FUTURE.)
I gotta go with PHANTOM on this one. The feelings of Love it/Hate it on this show are the most extreem I have seen. By the way, for the record: I HATE IT.

The Hello Dolly disputes aside, I would say Last Five Years.

Phantom might be the main offender/affection for people, and right now as it stands it horrible.

I agree with RENT and Aida. There's never any middle ground for those shows. It's either love or hate.

Really?! i've never actually heard someone say they hated that show....For that matter, I didn't know AIDA was debatable either. I love both shows, so maybe i just havent bene around people who don't enjoy them as much?
In the short time i've been here, RENT has been the most debatable! I also agree Phantom is another where you love it or hate it.
For the record, I LOVE RENT and HATE Phantom =D

Yeah, you'd be surprised how many people hate The Last Five Years. The best liner I keep hearing from them is "The audience couldn't relate to it." Updated On: 10/3/03 at 07:15 PM
Little Shop seems to be causing somewhat of a split.
Yea I would say right now Little Shop and I am speaking of the show it's self.

LITTLE SHOP seems to cause heart palpatations.
but just think
DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES did this too.
Hmmm....I don't know...I think there was more of a uproar caused by DOTV then Little Shop. Most of the people on here seem to express their opinion of the show (negative or positive) in a rational way.

Why "divided?"
Why not "differences of opinion?"
There are ways of asking the question, and ways of asking the question to illicit certain responses.
David, if I might suggest, you could find the answer you might be seeking by reading the threads and forming your own conclusions.

Bulldog... I think you are more then welcome to divide us at times. You have in the past made comments about the lack of talent with Linda Eder and how Disney-fied shows have become (and that is such a bad thing)
That can divide.
And I am trying not to bash you bulldog as some of your opinions make me think, but understand that for each word in the world there are thousand interpratations.

I don't "hate" Last Five Years, but I don't think it's a good show.

Jon, If a difference of opinion causes a divide it's because one or both sides are unwilling to accept the fact that beauty/taste is in the eyes of the beholder.
While some of my opinions may sting (to quote a show lyric), they are not done to be malicious. My goal is to get some of the posters to think, my small contribution.
Yours for a better Broadway! P>S> Linda, who?

...and bulldog, remember beauty and taste can also be in the eyes of the beer holder.....
