Love Never Dies. Hate the story, hate the premise, hate the lyrics, hate the music. I thought it was pretty rich (but not unexpected) of ALW and his minions at RUG to claim that anyone who hadn't seen the show was not allowed to judge the material and that their opinions were invalid. Especially considering it was ALW himself who pioneered the idea of the concept album -- does that mean that anyone who listened to the concept album of
Superstar without seeing the show live couldn't express any opinion on it? I judge the material, not the production. Not the choreography, not the design, not the direction, not even the performers, but the
piece. The material won't change with me seeing the show live. Plus it's even on DVD now for all to see how s&%# it is. If I hated that, why on
earth would I torture myself by paying to see it live? I did actually have tickets to see it and gave them away as quickly as I could.
