A few from (or for) the UK:
Witches of Eastwick - needs to be a bit tighter, but with a killer cast it could work on Broadway
Parade - the National Theatre over here could do an amazing production
Martin Guerre
Our House - more than the usual tribute show, and miles better than Mamma Mia
Taboo - either version

Eastwickian - I loved Witches of Eastwick with just a couple of exceptions:
The day I went, the witches didn't fly at the end of the first act. It was disappointing, yet kind of funny at the same time. The audience was quite bewildered at watching three women sitting on a sofa waving their arms about saying, "This is amazing! Wow!" etc.
The sets were a bit of a let-down (Prince of Wales).
Dance With the Devil just didn't work for me.
With a new set design and a new song to replace Dance With the Devil, I think the show could be a Broadway hit.

Ragtime
Parade

Oscar,
I agree. The score is BRILLIANT--perhaps Herman's finest.
I keep on waiting for a NY revival too; but it has been done in London in the 1980s with moderate success and a more upbeat ending.

Posted: 10/11/04 at 3:09pmMack and Mabel is my favorite Herman score. There was a concert version in London in 1988 as well as a full production in 1995.

Merrily We Roll Along and Saturday Night.
Parade and L5Y need to stay dead.
I'd love to see the london version of Taboo done at 54 or Circle in the Square. (Wouldn't be surprised if they try this at some point in maybe like 15 years or so).
LaChiusa's Wild Party too.

Carl Magnum,
YES! I think MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG and SATURDAY NIGHT deserve full Broadway remountings.
Both show Sondheim at his inspired best. :)

Hi show...
See other thread--gherbert wants to do an ENCORES! production of HIGH SPIRITS with Elaine Stritch as Madame Arcadi.
Would that be wild, or what? :)

Martin Guerre. I would love to see this show revamped and settle on Broadway someday.
