I dunno. Not that I care about GV, but as long as there is a laughable "Why not Brooklyn?" I thought there shoule be a "Why not Dracula?"
I can't even believe Dracula didn't get from lighting...that show was all about the lights - or dark...

The Tony committee probably decided that it would be better if these shows were never spoke of again.
same for BKLYN - forgive and try to forget.
I still think Tom Hewitt deserved a nod just for pulling that crap off.
What about them?

I say Dracula for lighting / sets and BKLYN For costumes. the costumes were pretty imaginative.
Dracula for lighting and scenic design-
glad Keli O' got a nod for piazza she was the only one worthy in drac in my honest opinion
and jen and chey deserved a nod just as much as the old fogies who got their nod's....this year is a disaster
bklyn i think eden and ramona were robbed...these two are the show
dracula should have got a nod. it's sad that they didn't because the lighting was amazing as were the performers.
i think brklyn's costumes were "imaginative" but also ugly as sin.
I think Dracula, Brooklyn, and Good Vibrations were snubbed rightfully. But I can't help feeling a pull at my heart strings... Awww, Good Vibes. <3 <3 <3
I agree with Jamie--I think Tom Hewitt's performance was really quite good, and in a year with a less-competitive race in his category, he could have been nominated.
I was hoping Reinders might take Dilly's spot, but, no dice.
It's okay... Reinders has big things in her future. *crosses fingers*

Eden and Romona were robbed, and I thought dracula should have gotten noms for the senic design, lighting, and costumes...I thought they were mesmerizing...if only the rest of the show was like that. Sorry, I just pisses me off because if your show is a bad reviewed flopped, it could have the best costumes or lighting or something, but it would not even be recognized.

i think that the tonys people just look at the show that open last month and the month before they did not think about all the shows.
I love DRACULA. but I understand they made some bad choices for Broadway. they replaced old songs from La Jolla with inferior ones and needed to work more on the book and lyrics. I have no doubt in my mind that with the proper revisions the show can be a hit in America. the studio demos that I have please me to no end... I aodre them.

Well, that doesn't explain the 5 nominations for Gem of the Ocean, 4 nominations for Pacific Overtures, the 4 nominations for La Cage, the 3 for Twelve Angry Men, the 2 for The Rivals and the individual nods for Reckless and Sight Unseen (which opened a year ago). All of those shows opened in 2004. Dracula and Good Vibrations and Brooklyn received mostly terrible reviews -- some of the worst of any show this season. THAT'S why they didn't get nominated -- when they opened had nothing whatsoever to do with anything.
yes, well, it makes everything so much better to know that they didn't get nominated simply becasue reviewers thought the shows were bad. I mean, that's just grand...
