Hi, I am looking for some Broadway songs about forbidden relationships and or overcoming obstacles in a relationship. Metaphorical or Literal

um Kiss me from Sweeney Todd? that's pretty much i can think of.
Oh! i just thought of a good one. Happiness from Passion, it's at the beginning of the story so you don't know that clara is married yet but still it's a good one.
maybe also Loving You from passion.

You could probably also get away with Elaborate Lives or Enchantment Passing Through from Aida. They're not perfect as stand-alone songs, but they would probably work.

The duets from Parade could possibly be stretched to be considered "forbidden love," since Leo's in jail while Lucille is not...

The Bells of St. Sebastian from Nine is about a little boy asking a prostitute about love...

Where in the World/How Could I Ever Know from Secret Garden is a duet between a man and his dead wife...

those are all a bit of a stretch, but they're ideas!

The already-mentioned "We Kiss In A Shadow" from The King and I is probably the ultimate forbidden love song, but I would add "I Have Dreamed" from the same score.

Errm well Bare is full of them, so Role of a Lifetime, Best Kept Secret, Ever After, etc.

On My Own from Les Mis, isn't exactly about forbidden love, but unrequited definitely.

This is from a film musical, but "Secret Love" from Calamity Jane is great. It won the Oscar that year.
