What are your "no guts, no glory" Tony nomination predictions?

Does anyone have last-minute "no guts, no glory" Tony nomination predictions? These would be predictions that others think are long shots, but you don't (or predictions that "locks" aren't getting nominated). Mine would be Julia Roberts, Maria Friedman, and Andrew Lloyd Webber for Best Score.

I actually think that all three are possibilities (though Chita may take Friedman's slot).

My biggest long shot is Michael Ball. Although I think he deserves it, between the Drowsy Chaperone and Jersey Boys, the field is competitive, and I think the fact that he had a shortened run in a long-closed show is going to hurt him.

Jersey Boys will probably get loaded with nominations like Drowsy. Julia may host if she is not nominated. Thats another possibility. I think it would be crazy to have Julia nominated only because all the other actors in her league give worthy performances, which gives Broadway a well deserved reputation. Unlike Julia, Christina, showed allot of charm and did not act like a movie star. We will see what happens. Im so excited!!!

I got so confused when I opened this thread.

Featured Actress in a Musical- Erin Davie

No, sir. No POPPINS for anything.

Just because there is a big fancy set on a Broadway stage this season which happens to be surrounded by a piece of garbage excuse for a Broadway show, I don't think it deserves recognition on one aspect alone.

POPPINS will get nods for Costumes, Sets, and Choreography for sure.

Gavin Lee will likely score a nomination.

I do believe that MARY POPPINS will get nominated for best musical.

re: What are your 'no guts, no glory' Tony nomination predictions?

I completely agree, Ashley.

Erin Davie definitely deserves a nom for her role in GREY GARDENS. She perfectly channels that character, and Davie's performance rounds out Ebersole's starring role wonderfully. You can totally see how Davie's character evolves (sadly) into Ebersole's 2nd act role.

Add to that her terrific musicianship. If you've listened to the new GG recording, she is dead-on perfect for that period. Her "Mother Darling" and, in particular, "Daddy's Girl" are standouts.

Davie was wonderfully cast and should be on the short list of Featured Actresses, along with Mary Louise Wilson (who seems to be a lock anyway).

I fear that other performers may knock Davie out of the running because voters may see her as just another ingenue, but there are nuances to her character that should not be overlooked.

If Charlotte D'Amboise gets a nod over Davie, it will be yet another Tony Award injustice.
Itty Bitty Geisha? Toyland? Gypsy Pasadoble? Just a few popular favorites...
