Bandit964, I haven't seen the show myself but (spoiler alert, I suppose) I remember people mentioning a sequence near the end of the show where the bad guy/spider women thing traps Spider-Man in a web. I believe it takes place during one of the songs.
But again, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

SPOILERS AND JUNK
I saw the 2nd preview and there was no net used throughout the whole show which I thought a little odd. As I had heard about the huge net.
I saw the show again last saturday and the net was there during one of the final songs. It is a giant rope net that comes out of the pit in the stage and covers the entire prescenium. Arachne flies around Peter Parker and all around in front of the net. Peter Parker climbs up and down and all around the net while she is singing at him.
When I saw it the first time with no net, I obviously wasn't missing anything because I didn't know It was supposed to be there. The second time I really liked the use of the net although there was about a 35 second pause where nothing was happening on stage and could later tell it was because the net was not coming out of the pit properly. I was also thinking in my head how Arachne could very easily just get stuck in her own web with one of her legs. Hope this helps a little. I did not see the show tonight, but I'm sure we will hear about the changes later tonight.

In response to the original poster's question. From what I have heard, the net is used in the final sequence of the show - it is supposed tt look like a spider web. It comes out of the stage (the stage hands had to help the first time they used it) and Archane and Spiderman have their last battle on it before it shows him and MJ just sitting in it. I have not seen the show, this is just based on what I have heard. Those who have seen it feel free to correct and add anything.

Did anyone go tonight/ According to the letter to the production, they wanted the web taken out of the show.
