he won the drama desk for evita and was nominated for a Tony mans he did Sweeney Todd but then he disappeared what happened?
How is it possible to have access to Broadway World, but not Google or IMDB?
Apparently you don't watch TV or go to the movies because if so you'd be very aware of what he's doing now.
After his time on Broadway, Bob Gunton became a famous actor in television and movies! It happens to some actors.
If you've been without electricity for 30 years, Bob Gunton might have indeed disappeared.
This rest of us have been enjoying his nonstop film and television career:

I see him constantly on television. He's even been on Family Guy!
Fun fact. I spent about 5 years convinced his name was Bob Gutón, because A: I'm not the most accurate reader, B: I assumed he was Latino because of his accent in Evita and C: I am an idiot.
If I remember correctly, he was going to be arrested for fraud and embezzlement from some prison in Maine, but then he blew his own brains out.
I've jokingly said to friends that I bet Bob Gunton is the richest of the three principals from Evita because of the residuals he must get from The Shawshank Redemption. Earlier this year (I believe), there was an article about Shawshank's life on cable TV, and Bob Gunton had a quote and I'm pretty sure he said he gets a five figure check every year from residuals from Shawshank. So while he probably isn't actually the richest of the three principals, that certainly is a nice bit of change to get every year.
ETA: I misremembered the article: Gunton had made close to six figures cumulatively by the film's 10th anniversary in 2004. This article was from 2014, though, so I'm sure he's made about $200,000 by now.
He was stricken with a case of Barbara Harris syndrome
According to the always trust-worthy www.celebritynetworth.com:
Mandy Patinkin: $8 million
Patti LuPone: $4 million
Bob Gunton: $3 million
While not the most, still pretty good for a guy that the OP didn't know had worked since 1990.
