Posted: 1/7/07 at 4:44pmI remember hearing about a Purlie revival that was supposed to be on Broadway (it was even listed on IBDB and then taken off). They were supposed to bring the Goodman Theatre production to Broadway or something like that. Are there still plans for one?

Posted: 1/7/07 at 4:51pmIt opened in CA, got reviewed(http://www.broadway.com/Gen/Buzz_Story.aspx?ci=514863) and was never heard from again. PRobably a good thing. It was terrible at encores.

Posted: 1/8/07 at 10:40amWell, the pre-Broadway run made it to LA and Chicago...but from the beginning, the show was beset with problems. They were unable to get any A list cast for the show (except Loretta Devine in a supporting role but only in the LA run) and let's just say the direction and choreography were quite below Broadway caliber.
