Can't wait for this one - - already have our seats; 3rd row dead center, so we won't be missing much action. Princesses will be following in the path of Hairspray..... Seattle to Broadway.

what theatre is it slated for?

Not slated for a theatre yet. My good friend's sister is playing one of the school girls in it. Should be a great show from what she's said about it.

Saw it as a presentation with Tom Wopat and Julie Halston at NAMT a year or so ago, and then a workshop up at Norma Terris with Rex Smith and Donna English last fall - all wonderful, very funny and very moving. Jenny Fellner played a great angsty teen who reunites with her daddy (the Sexiest Man Alive) in a parallel modern plot to The Little Princess. The dad role is perfect for my personal pick for Bway's SMA, Brent Barrett - he'll sing the hell out of it, and I'm totally excited to see him in something new!
And Catstagestud - if I saw your friend's sister, tell her she was great - every last girl on that stage was special and endearing and funny and wonderful!

David Zippel must be the same lyricist who wrote the lyrics for THE WOMAN IN WHITE. The lyrics for this London musical are well-written and very evocative of the drama that plays out in the musicalized version of a Victorian dark tale.
Based on his work in WOMAN IN WHITE, then this new work, PRINCESSES, must be very promising.

Zippel also wrote lyrics for CITY OF ANGELS, and one of the Disney movies - Aladdin, maybe?(with Alan Menken)

Zippel is one of the best writers on Broadway. His Goodbye Girl stuff is great.
