Thanks, Mary. Thanks, Ethel
The film version? Yes! DOUBLE YIKES!!
And who else was iin itt? Macdonald Carey?
LADY is one of my favorite scores, but don't expect to hear it in the film version.
Only complete recording is the London Cast of the National Theatre production starring Maria Friedman.

"I'm pretty sure SWEENEY TODD take place in London."
Well, with lyrics like "But there's no place like London", "...and it goes by the name of London", and "The worst pies in London", I'm going to say that it takes place in London.

Hi Jose', :)
No, MacDonald Carey played opposite Gertrude Lawrence in stage production. Role in Film went to Ray Milland.
For complete details on that stinkeroo, check out:

P.S. There was also a TV version in 1954 with Ann Sothern (who later found her true calling as the voice of a car in MY MOTHER, THE CAR TV Series!) :)
