"The transfer of Little Mermaid!"'
No if the Bway community was smart, they would have TLM stay put and keep running because at the moment they're making money... like good money. The Addams Family would be a great fit in the Marquis because it's a sophisticated and fancy house and TAF. That way TLM would not have to close and they could open a tour simultaneously to bring in even more bucks! (Though TLM will/might eventually lose steam)

The word that best describes the Marquis - antiseptic

Whoever designed it with no bathroom should be shot. It may be the only theater in the world with no indoor plumbing.

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

I rarely use the restroom during show. (I go before and after) Do you just go to the hotel for the bathroom?

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

Yes, you go to the hotel for the restroom. You must have your ticket to re-enter. It's easy and I don't know why people complain. It's a shorter commute than some Broadway houses where god forbid if you're in the balcony and the restrooms are in the basement!!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The bathrooms are down the hall. They are within clear seeing distance of the theater. As usual it's just idiots on BWW who find everything to complain about.

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

I heard Wicked was transferring to the Marquis to make room for the revival of Les Miz that is going into the Gershwin
#33

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

^BS. Wicked fills the Gershwin as opposed to Les Miz which will probably fill for the first 2 weeks then simmer down to %75.

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

LOL. I heard Wicked bought out 9to5's lease so they could open a second production to accommodate the demand.

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

The bathrooms at the Marquis are also a lot nicer than most Broadway houses!!!!

I never complain about the bathrooms. What I do complain about is the horrendous exit situation at the end of the show. Two little escalators for, when the show is full, 1600 people is not a good idea!!!!

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

has that actually ever happened??? I mean a show running two productions at the same time on Broadway.

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

Ziegfeld strongly considered opening a second company of Showboat during its original run in the 1920s.
How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

Actually they'll both be one woman shows featuring Patti LuPone.

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

Oh God... will they gross the shows separately, or together to allow them to be competitive in the grossing?

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

there was a thread on ATC that was talking about the double billed show. they were hoping they'd call it PATTI LUPONE Guys and Gypsys(misspelled on purpouse so annoying posters can have something to bitch about). someone also said they wanted to use the Our Town approach and put the stage under the , but with this they are still going to seat people in the mezz. but then they all started bitching about some guy wearing shorts to a show...

It hasn't been confirmed but my sources are saying Patti will also be playing all the orchestra parts.

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

will it be a revusical(s) or will patti actually be in 2 places at 1 time? maybe she can triple it and serve drinks in the aisles, as well!

re: What is going in to the Marquis?

All of the kinks have yet to be worked out but I've been told it will be almost identical to the smash hit, sold out, critically acclaimed, 6 month run of the show that ran in Patti LuPone's basement.
