Posted: 7/30/09 at 3:39pmMs. Leavel and Mr. Fitzgerald both have clauses in their contracts that allow them to exit their respectivbe shows to do MINSKY'S.

I would think that they would stay with their shows, expecially Chris cause he is in a revival that is coming to Broadway again after a long time. I don't think they would stay for a little while and leave after like 2 months.

Posted: 7/30/09 at 5:28pmWOW... The Marquis really has had an awful track record lately. And it's such a great location right in the smack-dab middle of Times Square. Odd.

I've heard Sister Act won't reach Broadway til fall 2010.
I'd personally love Catch Me If You Can to take it, great location.
Exiting the theater is not that hard: make two rights upon leaving the theater and follow the hallway down to the exit sign. The steps beyond the door lead right into the underpass. The same thing is on the left side.

Looks like it'll most likely be WHITE CHRISTMAS and then MINSKY'S.

Posted: 7/31/09 at 4:56pmInteresting that they're looking at other possibilities than Chris Fitzgerald for Minsky's
#68re: What is going in to the Marquis?
Posted: 7/31/09 at 7:39pmSo I'm guessing Minsky's will probably open up in March/April if White Christmas was to do what they did last year when the closed the first Sunday in January

It seems Catch Me will have to wait for one of the other large houses to open up. Perhaps the Broadway if Shrek doesn't last the winter, or either the St. James or Shubert, depending on how Finian's Rainbow or Memphis do, respectively.
(My money is on it going into the St. James. Not sure why, just a feeling.)

Posted: 7/31/09 at 7:58pmMINSKY'S is supposedly going into rehearsal in December, so I would guess they'd start previews in February and open in March.

A new musical, according to press notes: "Inspired by the real-life Minsky brothers, whose legendary nightclub drew burlesque dancers, bawdy comedians and some notorious police raids, the musical follows Bob Minsky (played by Christopher Fitzgerald) as he struggles to keep his risqué establishment in business."
I get the feeling that CATCH ME won't even come this season ... and if it does, it will be right before the Tony cutoff. Just a hunch.

Posted: 7/31/09 at 8:52pmI saw Minksy's in LA. It's a cute entertaining old-fashioned show but the score is quite middling (without ANY hits). I don't see it succeeding on Broadway.
