Men playing women is really nothing new in theatre. Shakespeare, and pantomime both have a long history of it, though for different reasons.
Matt- i'm ashamed at you! you haven't seen the tranny in Crazy for You!? don't you know that there is ALWAYS a transvestite in Gershwin shows! and you call yourself a theater lover!? shaaaame!
"Whatever, i'm just sad that people who are full of hate exist, whether they hate me for who I am, which you don't, or whether they are just ready to hate anyone, like you are."
Yeah, okay, like you know me.
First of all, you're the one who is on the defensive here, as if I attacked you being a transgendered, which I didn't.
And second, in regards to your responding post, I may not know what you have had to put up with, but, at the same token, you have no IDEA what I went through growing up.
Sounds to me like you're a little bitter. Take it out on someone who cares.

I think one of the main problems with the so called "rudeness" on this board lately is that everyone is so damn sensitive. I highly doubt that Sporkie meant anthing offensive or to put anyone down by his question. To be honest, I find it to be a reasonable question that he just worded the wrong way.
There have been a lot more roles lately for men in drag. I, personally, think it's opening a lot of doors in the theater world and in the outside view of gays, drag queens, transgendered, etc.
Let's stop flying off the handle, shall we?
