What is the stage door scene like at Other Desert Cities? Does everyone come out and sign? Also, I know it just started previews, but has anyone tried doing the stage door thing at Private Lives? Thanks!

Having passed Other Desert Cities many times, I noticed that the crowd was NOT large at all, and everyone except Stacy Keach has come out.

I cannot speak about Private Lives.

Thanks for the information! It's too bad about Stacy Keach, but I'm glad to hear the rest of the Other Desert Cities cast is meeting the fans, and that it is relatively quiet.

Stacy Keach goes out the front door. Everyone else goes out the stage door. If you keep your eyes open, you can get them all in one shot. Otherwise go back for Stacy and wait by the front, but stand in the Shubert Alley because he's gone out the door by the box office ticket windows. His limo waits for him on 45th street.

BCEFA is selling signed items now. Posters are $60 and Playbills are $20.

Anybody go to the stage door for Other Desert Cities recently? I'm planning on going to this Sunday's matinee - Super Bowl Sunday - and am wondering if they'll come out after, considering they don't have a night show.

Also anyone do rush for this since they announced the policy other than Lincoln Center Tickets policy. I want to get an idea how early I'll need to show up.

Thanks in advance!

PianoMann, nothing new to add except that the information at the top of this thread remains the same. Everyone comes out the stage door except Keach, who exits through the main lobby to his car. Though it appears people have caught on as a group of autograph seekers were stationed there waiting Saturday night.

Since student rush is subject to availability and that the weekend shows are well sold, I'm going to throw into the ring the option of standing room which is $26.50, if rush fails!

I concur with that above. Griffiths was in a hurry the day I saw her, but she still graciously signed, and Channing, Kirk and Light were all very kind, signing and taking pictures. There were about five people waiting the Sunday I went a few weeks ago.

Also, I splurged a bit and got the seats in the back of the mezz and they were fantastic. I ended up center on an aisle and I had the perfect view. If rush doesn't work out and you don't want to stand, for $60, rear mezz is a great option.

Thank you for the responses! If I can't get rush tickets for Other Desert Cities this weekend, I'll head over to Porgy and Bess. I want to see both and am trying to do so within the next two weekends.

I'll give an update on rush for ODC!

Whatever you do, though, be sure to see ODC somehow. It's not to be missed.

Oh, believe me I will! The only shows on my list that are currently open are ODC and Porgy, and I usually go once a week to see a show. If I strike out with student rush for ODC more than twice, I'll splurge and buy tickets.

Do they all come out after both matinee and evening performances or is it just evening?

I saw a Wednesday matinee and everyone but Stacy Keach came out. Only about 10 people were waiting so it's very easy to talk to them. Everyone was super nice. Stockard is the only one with a bodyguard and she won't take pictures with you. Justin Kirk made sure I got a good picture (he kept saying to the person taking our picture 'just take another! get a good one!') as did Judith Light. Great great experience.

3 -5 people at matinee door today. Saw Rachel, very serious, walked and talked. The guy from Weeds was VERY friendly.

Yeah, if you are looking to chat up Judith Light she is INCREDIBLY gracious and kind, a saint. Justin is so laid back and friendly, I cannot extol his virtues enough.

Would like to add that I attended his first performance on the 10th and again this past Saturday evening; he really got damn good in that time, having a lot of fun up there.
