My husband and I just got married and the band used the JB arrangement and played Can't Take My Eyes Off of You for our first dance...so I think that is the winner

Well, I'm a huge Sweeney Todd fan, so I'd have to say Kiss Me, but my latest obsession is Spring Awakening, and I cry whenever I hear The Word of Your Body.

Elaborate Lives- Aida
What Is It About Her- The Wild Party (it's not a love song exactly, but Brian D'arcy James sings it which is pretty much the same thing in my book)
Without You- Rent
There's more but I'm too lazy to look them up
Does the sun really rise in the east?
Does the earth really spin around the sun?
What's it matter in the least?
What's real to me ain't real to everyone.

Nobody mentioned my favorite, "What I Did For Love" from "A Chorus Line", or "Almost Like Being In Love" from "Brigadoon" nor "Hey There" from "Pajama Game". "So In Love" from "Kiss Me Kate" is also one of my favorites. Don't forget: "A Woman In Love" from Guys and Dolls", "Some Enchanted Evening" from "South Pacific", "Love Look Away" from "Flower Drum Song", "Younger Than Springtime" from "South Pacific", "Make Believe" from "Showboat", "If He Walked Into My Life" from "Mame", "Sunrise Sunset" from "Fiddler", "Goodnight My Someone" from "Music Man", and "Kismet's" "Stranger in Paradise" and "This Is My Beloved". It's hard to pick a favorite.

Does "What I Did for Love" really count as a love song? I really don't think it does...

Now, it's "As Long As You're Mine" from 'Wicked'. Before that I didn't have one. I despise romance. Sexiness with a little love thrown in is cool though. re: What is your favorite broadway love song?

Especially when Gordon MacRae sings it. I don't understand why the show doesn't just end right there. How can Laury even consider another man after that song? For me, it's like game over.

"All The Wasted Time" - Parade
"I Never Said I Love You" - Dear World
does "Make Our Garden Grow" count? - Candide
"With Every Breath I Take" - City of Angels
"Marry Me A Little" - Company/Marry Me a Little
"Embracable You" - Crazy for You, but I actually prefer this song performed more seriously than it is in the show.
"Loving You" - Passion
"Say It Somehow" - Light in the Piazza
"Tonight" - West Side Story
"People Like Us" - Wild Party

"Jimmy" - Thoroughly Modern Millie
"A Little Fall of Rain" - Les Miserables
"Small Umbrella in the Rain" - Little Women
"Some Things are Meant to Be" - Little Women (ok, so it may not exactly be a love song, but it kind of is. It's about accepting death and letting go someone close to you. It's more a love song about the unbreakable sister bond.)

I want to apologize for some offensive messages posted on this board under my name. The night 0f 12-15-08 I did not have internet access, and someone had used my name to post something offensive. My avatar was also changed. I dont' know what else was posted, or if anyone recieved bad PMs, but I want to apologize for that. I've changed my password, and even though I was not the one posting these messages it still needed to be corrected.
