i love how everyone's listing 5 shows. I'm the same way and usually can't decide. But i feel that my all time favorite will always be PASSION.

GYPSY is my favorite show, and I speak from the perspective of 55 years of theatregoing (FLAYHOOLEY with Barbara Cook was my first). I saw the Ethel Merman production 5 times, Angela Lansbury 2 times, Tyne Daly 4 times, Linda Lavin 1 time, and Bernadette Peters 1 time. The Best? The Ethel Merman production and not just because of Merman. Jack Klugman and Sandra Church were also memorable. And the Minsky's Salute to Christmas strip number was far funnier than the Garden of Eden sequence in subsequent productions. It featured some 10 showgirls in a Christmas Tree set-up, with Christmas ornaments covering their boobs. It was gaudy as hell and hilarious and was only there for less than a minute--it ended with a giant Christmas present opening to reveal Gypsy Rose Lee. The audience howled with laughter. In a later account, then director and book writer Arthur Laurents said he changed the Minskys number because the Christmas idea wasn't funny. He was dead wrong.

SWEENEY TODD with URINETOWN (albeit a local production) in close second.
I never saw Urinetown, though I really want to. What is with the whole bunny thing? "Don't be the bunny"

Follies and Evita are my current favorites.
Top fav's:
Musicals
Evita
Mamma Mia!
Cats
Into the Woods
Plays

SITPWG and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Hello, Dolly! AND Sweeney Todd

If I had to pick: I would say the Wedding Singer, I still cannot believe I have seen it four times in six months - which I have never done (and the worst part, I plan to see it even more). But honestly, I have never had such a fun time at a show before this gem came along.
Also - The Last 5 Years because it is absolutly brilliant writing and the tag team of Butz and Scott are in it - what is not to love!!
If forced to choose, ultimately at the moment the one I listen to and want to see most again is Wicked.
But all together - Wicked, L5Y and Les Mis
