Ocean Breeze soap. It's just like taking an ocean cruise only there's no boat and you don't go anywhere.

Did you know Jim Steinman was Lloyd Webber's first choice for lyricist on PHANTOM. He passed cause he was working on one of Bonnie Tyler's albums. Now THAT would have made an awsome show. I like PHANTOM and while the title song is rock sounding esspecially if you've seen the msuci video single of it with Sarah Brightman and Cliff Richard(I think?), I think it would have also worked well as a rock musical in the style of DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES. The whole Meat Loaf gothic rock of the 80s was a perfect opportunity for ALW to do PHANTOM the same way.

Because for some reason American Jews have a Christmas-related inferiority complex. *insert eyeroll here*

"Is it going to be the musical phantom?!"
"Well, what other Phantom of the Opera is there? Yes, the musical."
No, it's going to be a revival of the old black and white movie POTO...heh. =) Starring Nelson Eddy, if you haven't seen the original...I suggest doing so.

I doubt I'll see either on Christmas Eve, but if I DO, it'll be for Proof. No contest. Either way I'll be seeing Proof before I see POTO.

I will also be seeing both Proof and POTO on Xmas Eve...and probably POTO again late Xmas night.

Actually, Alan Jay Lerner was Webber's first choice for lyricist for PHANTOM. They had several meetings and Alan was committed to the project for a short time, and then decided he was too ill to carry on. Andrew had to walk away with Alan's blessings. Alan later died the year the show opened in London.
