Posted: 2/27/05 at 1:08pmI can't remember the whole thing, but it's something Raul Esparza said on Broadway.com's video of the opening night party for Taboo. Part of it was: "it's not just a show about strange people..." and then he gave a really heartfelt description of what the show *was* about. He speaks beautifully. Yay Raul.

I missed that one!
''Every day on the way to the theater, I walk through Shubert Alley to remind myself of where I am, some people work their whole lives and don't make it to Broadway.''

Posted: 2/27/05 at 1:41pmI like what Audra said about winning a Tony doesn't nessecarily help your career, because outside of the theatre world, a Tony doesn't mean anything.

Posted: 2/27/05 at 1:44pmSomething Idina said after the Tonys about how of all the guys she would want to kiss, Taye would be her number one choice. It was cute. Updated On: 2/27/05 at 01:44 PM

I think that's true. And that makes me sad.

Posted: 2/27/05 at 2:01pmIt is true unfortunately, Justice. All of us know people who are legends or legends in the making in theatre, but if u ask anyone outside of our safe, cultured world they would say look at you like u were talking alien if u mentioned Audra, BSM, Chita, Donna, Ethel, Mary, Bernadette, Mandy, Zero, Sondheim, Bennett, Hal Prince etc.

"It's only 6000 people… and about 6000 on telly." --Hugh Jackman to Sarah Jessica Parker at the Tony's.
So funny and unfortunately so true.

I'm pretty sure someone has it in their signature, but from Norbert Leo Butz: "That's the LAST time I'm dealing with guys coming up to me and saying 'Hey, Adam, you wanna tune *my* fender guitar? I'll even buy you dinner afterwards, you stud-muffin. You can bring a friend if you want, I'm into that kind of stuff... that is, if you are...' I mean, come on! My name is NORBERT!! Geez!"
I use it as an away message. I get a kick out of it.
(Why yes, I am a newcomer. Thank you for welcoming me. =P)

It was posted on here somewhere and it was in the NY Post when Norbert Leo Butz was interviewed, and they asked him how he researched being a con artist this is what he said:
"I have two daughters, ages 4 and 7. Everything you need to learn about a con artist you can learn from a 4-year-old who doesn't want to go to bed. "

My favorite quote is from the lips of one Mr. Nathan Lane.
Upon leaving the theater after a performance of TRUMBO, he saw me standing there and said,"What you again?" and he ran down the street.
For a little guy, he can really run,

Hmm... I'm not sure of the exact words... but Stephanie on her Tony nomination...
"I feel so lucky to be in this catagory. It's like there's these four fantasic women... and a piece of chicken. But I feel very lucky to be that piece of chicken!"

"What do you if you're onstage and a puppets eye falls off? It hasn't happend yet but if it were to, it's like what would we do? It's not like if your hat falls off or your glove falls off. I mean a puppets eye, that's a part of there body. I mean you don't go see Fiddler and expect Alfred Molina's eye to fall out!"--John Tartaglia during his interview with Scott Nevins back in feb. 2004
I laughed so hard when I first heard that. It always makes me giggle!

Rashad tied for Best Actress in a Drama and Viola Davis said something along the lines of 'at this moment i truly feel blessed because there are so many people who have worked just as hard as i have, and haven't gotten this far.'

Not really my favorite, but I thought this was funny. Sutton was talking about how Little Women appeals to men and women or whatever and she said something like: "My boyfriend loved it. He's a man." I just thought that was funny.

My favorite (shockingly) came from a post Cary Shields made on his forum concerning why his fear of bugs was above all other fears ...
"You are all mad as english cows. Your fears are destitute of reason. How can an escalater, or clowns for that matter be of any harm to anyone. They don't have stingers to sting you. They can't fly can they? So they can't very well buzz in your ears while you lay in the sun. Have you ever seen a bunch of clowns hovering over a piece of **** before they swarm you and touch your sandwich? No, It's clear to me that only the rancor common flying insects (poisonous and otherwise) feel toward us humans, their only natural enemy, makes them a worthy, and well founded foe. This is why, I fear them with the kind of ardor I generally reserve for performances attended by the queen or my mother. Thank you and goodnight you big ninnies."
Hehe it never fails to make me laugh.
