So I'm coming on a very unexpected trip to NYC the week after next. Does anyone have any recommendations?! Both Plays and Musicals, Broadway or Off or any other Legit companies. Any MUST SEE shows since I don't know when I'll be back in the city?! Of what's on BWay now I've seen Billy Elliot(though i saw iton the west end), Wicked, N2N, Jersey Boys, Lion King, Mamma Mia. I Definitely have to see American Idiot, but any other must see shows? Since bway shows aren't lasting too long these days. THANKS!

I would see A Little Night Music... By then, Elaine will be pretty comfortable in the role, hopefully.

I'm coming down September 2 and "Promises Promises" and "Night Music" are high on my list.

La Cage and Promises are both very fun (I preferred La Cage, though). I am also looking forward to returning to Little Night soon. Any of these plus Idiot would make for a great trip!

I saw Promises and LOVED it. if you are a k.cheno fan or a sean hayes fan, its a must-see. Plus Katie Finneran is totally worth the ticket too. I know a lot of people dont care for it, but i really loved it and highly recommend it!

I'd say Next to Normal, but tomorrow is Alice Ripley's and Jenn Damiano's last show =(. Made me so mad when I heard that. I've seen the show once with the OBC, except for Aaron Tveit (Kyle Deam Massey is really good though). I'd see the show a million times over if I had the chance. It's amazing. I love Alice, and happy to hear she's going on the national tour -- can't wait to see it! I think Jenn was an amazing job as Natalie, and I think me, along with lots of other people, are going to miss her. Can't wait to see what her next project is though!

A Little Night Music was great. I have yet to see it with Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch. Still, the show is amazing =).

Without Kristin Chenoweth/Sean Hayes/Kate Finneran, promises is no good. I enjoyed it, but would I see it if they weren't in it? probably not.
