(Piven backed out of Speed-the-Plow mid-run because of what he claimed was a sushi-induced case of mercury poisoning. The credibility of this claim has been considered questionable to say the least. The sushi joke was right before the award for Leading Actor in a Play, in which Piven's co-star, Raul Esparza, was nominated.)

Oh, staight boy deprived BWW...
... if you listened to NPH on Stern, as I did, you'd know he and Christine Taylor have a joke about that...
...hilarious. I can't believe it made it to Broadcast!

In the Sex & The City movie, Samantha covers herself in sushi as a present for her live-in lover. Known for her high-energy sex drive, Neil was making a "fish" reference ironically because he's gay. When he said if he ate sushi every day he could perform week after week, he was referencing uber-horny Samantha.

It's a slam at Piven obviously.
But there's also sushi as a stand in for a lady's private parts.
