Lestat.
The Wedding Singer has more of a name and an overall wider appeal.
I don't think it is cruel. Answer: Lestat
LESTAT, but both by year end. And both will immediately be replaced by other musicals, employing plenty of other people, so don't feel too bad.
listen... when Broadway Producers are getting away with $111 per ticket and prepackaged movie-turned-musical-turned-movie shows then maybe I would lay-off. I am still VERY upset that shows like Sweeney Todd are allowed to charge full price. IT"S A RIP!

"Lestat" will close soon. "Wedding Singer" has gotten good audience reactions, even the critics admit it. "Lestat" has not.

who cares?
You're mad that Sweeney is charging full price? It's art. And it's brillant.
How is it a rip? Straight plays charge the same price...

i wish them both successful runs..SOMEHOW!!
LESTAT will probably close sooner than THE WEDDING SINGER. If word-of-mouth on the show is good (the audience reaction seems to be positive), then it could run for at least a little while. It's a bit too early to tell for certain, though.
The producers of LeStat (Warner Bros) have a hell of a lot more $ to throw away than the Producers of Wedding Singer.

I LOVED LESTAT! I don't know why, but I just really enjoyed it. I saw it in sf, and I knew there needed to be improvements (like the ending was HORRIBE) but even so I really liked it. I just hope they didn't change it so much that they ruined it. I guess I have to admit that I was a Buffy fan though...maybe I just have a thing for hot vampires..haha
so my vote is THE WEDDING SINGER!!!
I didn't enjoy either one...just got back from The Wedding Singer. The performances were good...loved Stephen Lynch and Amy Spanger in particular. However, I just didn't find it that funny. Maybe it's not my type of humor, or maybe I'm too young to get all these 80s references. The audience seemed to enjoy it though and although the theater was far from full, I think it will last longer than Lestat. Lestat was an awful bore. At least Wedding Singer didn't put me to sleep.

both can leave, let's get something good.
Oh, definitely Lestat. The Wedding Singer has some appeal to it. And familiarity.

Isn't New Line producing "Wedding Singer"? If so, they are a division of Time Warner so they probably have some money, too.

Just saw Wedding Singer, I did not enjoy it very much. But it did have it's moments, it was I guess "cute" for a lack of a better word. Nothing I would spend money on again. Overall the audience seemed to have really loved it though, it's a about the same target audience as Mamma Mia...
So I'd guess Lestat. But I wish both companies long runs...
This is a horrible theard. WHY in the world would any of you want one of these shows to close, even if you think they're awful!?
Ridiculous

---> I'm 19 and I got all the references. I thought it was hilarious. I don't see how you couldn't find it funny? Some of the parts - like in begining with the piano - were just plain funny. If you have any sort of sense of humor, you'll find this show funny.

I agree. I never respond to these boards. but you people have no idea WHAT you are writing about. Do you know how much work goes into putting up a broadway musical? How many people, the COUNTLESS, COUNTLESS hours and hours. And not to mention this is a JOB. Performers have rent, mortages, children, cars, bills to pay. So for you all to sit at your computers and judge and speculate as to "who will close first" WHY would you wish that on anyone? Can I start a board about you loosing your job at Walmart.
So next time you are going to bash these shows, know there is a lot more to it. Most of these new shows have taken AT LEAST a year out off peoples lives. and you just sit and trash this, trash that, this should close, that should stay open. Granted these boards are mindless and stupid and the people who write on them have NO lives and are CLEARLY not TRUE theater lovers or they wouldn't yuck a fellow performers yum.

"the people who write on them have NO lives"
That must apply to you as well since you have posted your thoughts.

I shouldn't have said that. People who post in a negative manner, solely to to hurt and pass horrible judgement....have no lives.
Not taking that back!
I'm 24 and didn't get a lot of the references...oh well. this season of musicals was extremely disappointing.
If I do my job at WalMart badly, then certainly start as many threads as you would like saying I should be removed from my position.
