Cutting the material was criminal.
Some chemistry between Henry and Mueller would have also been nice.

Never John Doyle! Since operas often bring back staged productions from the past, I wonder why Broadway revivals don’t look to directors of successful past productions and have them repeat past successes. I know it wouldn’t necessarily work all of the time...but bringing back Hytner’s production could have been spectacular. I saw it four times.

It definitely would've been interesting to see what Bartlett Sher would've done with Carousel. Then again, Christopher Wheeldon also would've been a better choice to direct (and choreograph) as well.
