This is a very enlightening article about the understudy for Patti LuPone (War Paint) and more.....It is interesting that the byline mentions Midler, but the article doesn't include information about her Dolly understudies.

Great article. It might not have mentioned Bette Midler's two other understudies, but it mentioned Donna Murphy. I want to know what was going through Linda Mugleston's mind when she received word she was going on for Bette that afternoon.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Did anyone see Linda's performance in Dolly? Or when she was Norma Desmond years back at a regional production? She's a solid ensemble/swing player that seems to move consistently from production to production. I'd be curious if she can anchor a show as a lead?
