Posted: 9/6/11 at 11:11amTheir prices went up after Labor Day...I guess today is the first day of increased prices...so sad. Seems to be a yearly increase around this time. In a few years, tdf will be $50 per ticket!

I joined TDF early 2010, so I am not sure what happened before that, but there was a price increase last year after Labor Day as well. Do not remember exactly what it was last year, but this year it increased Broadway Show prices by $2, Off Broadway $1.

When my parents took me to see my first Broadway show it was to see Sandy Duncan and Christopher Hewitt in Peter Pan at the Lunt-Fontanne and the ticket stub my mom saved for me (which I have) is for the Orchestra and it was a full price ticket for I believe $29.00
sigh...wonder when 'we' won't be able to afford to pay even discounted prices?

Prices WERE raised last year--I didn't realize they had been raised again (by the minute amount of $2.50). I thought the OP was referring to the previous price raise. Keep your knickers on, Insider2.

I think plays were 11 bucks when I started in 88.

I think when I first joined, plays were $18-$20, and Musicals were $21-$25---
Still a good value, but not near what it used to be-- Guess you have to be lucky as far as seat loc-
Just saw "Zarkana" last wk, and had 6th row Orch-- not sure what best discount out there is for the show, but it was Friday, and they were center on aisle.

I thought maybe I'd finally check out Spider-Man, but with the TDF fee it was $45. $45!
Obviously that's still a wonderful discount from the full price, so I'm not complaining. But every little price hike counts for something. It means I'll probably be seeing a few less shows per year, which is a shame because they'll probably be the things I wouldn't normally have seen otherwise.
