Posted: 8/23/04 at 11:30amWell, Idina will have to announce a final date she'll be performing first. Right now, she's open ended. But, Shoshana Bean is her standby now, and I"d guess that she may take over. We'll see, I suppose. =)

Word, Plum. Word. People often say to me, if you hate Wicked, don't read the threads. Ya know, I didn't hate Wicked after I saw it. I merely very strongly disliked it but was able to see the two or three good things about it amid hundreds of awful things about it. But it's the constant threads, with innocuous titles like this one, that have made me come to hate the whole enterprise.
The only announcement I am looking forward to is the closing one, at this point. Then we can move on to the Save Wicked threads and Oh My God if They Don't Cast Idina and Kristin in The Movie I am Going to Boycott It threads.

I hope it's gonna be Stephanie Block. Everyone can agree on her. I was just wondering, who else played Elphaba in the Wicked workshop besides her and Sutton Foster?

First of all, I believe Sutton Foster was only in the ensemble in the workshop; I thought she had played Elphaba, too. I wouldn't mind seeing her as a replacement sometime in the future.
They would probably announce it sometime in December, and if we're lucky, in the middle to end of November. Everyone keeps saying they want it to be Stephanie Block, who understudied that role in San Francisco, so I have a small hunch it is going to be her.

Idina hasnt announced the 2nd as her last day. Her contract ends then, but she may renew.
Stephanie passed on the show, so it's unlikely we'll see her in it.
I think it may be Shoshana Bean. If you don't know her...go listen to her version of Ain't No Way on her website www.shoshanabean.com. The girl can SANG.

Posted: 8/23/04 at 11:59amShe may renew her contract again, who knows? But when the time comes, they may announce a replacement a month or two in advance. I thought Stephanie Block passed on it because she was offered the role of Liza in Boy From Oz, but that is closing September 12th.
