I'm seeing Spelling Bee in a couple of weeks. I've been to New York many times but I don't know where Circle In The Square is. What other theatres are around it? Is it right in the theatre district? How far is it from the Gershwin Theatre? Thanks!

It's directly next door to the Gershwin.
Wait Margo you have to put it in these terms:
Right next to Wicked!

Ah, beaten to it. Anyway, there's a really nice "theater maps" link on the left, under the "Shows" heading. A very handy tool for next time.
LOL Little Fish. I was thinking the same thing.
Look for hundreds of overzealous tweens hoping to win the lottery!

*shudder* That's why I'm going for standing room instead.
Plum, do you mean standing room for Spelling Bee? That particular lottery isn't so bad. I didn't win it, but as soon as the last person is announced, go and stand right behind them and you'll easily get a Standing Room ticket (as I did).

I don't want to bother competing with the Wicked kiddies. I got lucky and won the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels lottery on my first try this year, but last season it took me 10 attempts to get Avenue Q tickets, and I don't feel like repeating that experience. So tomorrow I'll be up and at 'em around 6:30 so I can be at the box office when it opens. :) I'm sure to get tickets that way.

Actually, standing room is hard to get if you wait until the lottery. The lottery is much more difficult to win, because the "Wicked" losers sign up for the "Speeling Bee" lottery, and therefore make it almost impossible. It's really annoying...I think they should move up the "Spelling Bee" lottery.

well, to be technical it is UNDER the Gershwin. The lobby entrance is next to the Gershwin - part of the same building. The theatrre itself is in the basement.
It's the theatre you ignore each and every time you go see Wicked.
i LOVE circle in the square! its where i saw my first bway.
. sorry, random. but hey. and its right by wicked, even though like 50 people have said that. have fun at bee! i hope to see it over teh summer! its a great theatre for audience participation!
So close to the Gershwin, you can taste it! Well, not 'taste" is but yeah, you know what I mean!
