Posted: 6/11/06 at 11:35pmPatti and Michael already have theirs. Manoel has yet to win one. That's what happens sometimes. The people you want to win don't win and then everybody moans about it again next year.

Posted: 6/11/06 at 11:36pmI was very upset that Felciano, LuPone, and the show itself didn't win. Still, I think this revival was something special, and I'm glad that I saw and appreciated it.

Michael lost to a worthy opponent but as for Patti, well lets say i had resepct for lachanze untill she tanked oprah and bought herself that tony. But where was the revival award. WHAT THE F***! It was utter BS.

I'm just incredibly dissapointed that both michael and manoel lost their awards to jukebox actors.

I actually got teary over those awards. Sadness (and anger!).
Whatever. They're brilliant actors and they've already proved that. It's just sad that they weren't acknowledged for their incredible roles in this amazing show.

Posted: 6/12/06 at 1:55amI agree, I was floored by the "Sweeney" cast and really sad that they were all robbed. But this actually makes me think that an ensemble Tony might be a good thing to add - because it wasn't just her remarkable Mrs Lovett that we adored, it was the tuba and the triangle. And where would Michael Cerveris have been without Alexander Geminangi on piano or Benjamin Magnuson on cello? The whole cast deserves a Tony.

what annoyed me was that Lachanze thanked Oprah for making this all possible (about the show coming to Broadway) when Oprah didn't join the list of producers till a few months before the show opened.
but don't get me wrong, i love Oprah and all the work she has done. But she was not the person who made the whole show possible.

Posted: 6/12/06 at 2:06amI think LaChanze thanking Oprah had more to do with the publicity and popularity she brought to it. It had nothing to do with her as a producer. I think if Oprah continually supported by show on her World Wide talk show, had me on to perform on said talk show and then sunk a million into it, I'd thank her too. I mean you can't buy that publicity.
