Which OCR? - A little help from my friends!

Hi Guys, I'm currently deciding on my next OCR to purchase, and would like a little advise on which one to buy next. I like a vast range of musicals from Rent to Passion. I have narrowed the choices down to:

The Light in the Piazza
Little Women
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Avenue Q

Help! Which one should I opt for?

I'll post in order of preference:

1) AVENUE Q
2) DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
3) THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA
4) LITTLE WOMEN
Praying Decca Broadway will put "Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope" on CD!

my thoughts are below...

1) Piazza
2) Q
3) Little Women
4) DRS
"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

I would say out of those four go with Q, and YES, bwayondabrain, it is worth getting the Sweet Charity CD, if only to hear Denis croon out the title song. Yum.

I've just been on the Avenue Q website, and although the music sounds fun and catchy. I'm not impressed by the staging of the show, does it not get quite annoying after a while, having all those puppets prancing about the stage with people behind them? I think I am going to go with Piazza. I hope the show comes to London, it looks sumptuos and delightful.

1. Piazza
2. DRS
3. Q
4. LW

Piazza is just amazing and incredibly beautiful. DRS is so much fun, and I personally listen to it more than Q. Also, i recommend waiting to buy Q until you have seen the show, I regret knowing most of the music coming into the show. IMO, LW just isn't that good, the music doesn't do anything special for me, and espeially compared to the other three OCRs you are thinking about, it is a waste.

1. Piazza
2. Dirty ROtten Scoundrels
3. Ave Q
4. Little Women

The top 3 have had a lot of play from me, but number 4 I saw once and played once, and now it sits on the shelf. Foster was much better live than she is on disc. THe first 3 are must haves for any collection.

To defend Q; I personally think it is one of the most playable cast recordings of the last 10 years.

I agree with ElphabaRose about waiting to buy Q until you see it...a lot of what is so funny about the show is revealed on the cast album...I listened to the music before I saw the show, and have to say...it wasn't as enjoyable as it would have been going in blind...

GO with Piazza! So beautiful, and only gets better upon multiple listenings!

Thanks guys. It seems Piazza was the clear afvourite, so I've ordered it off Amazon. (although I must confess I also ordered Little Women, only because it is my favourite novel and I love Sutton). Once again thanks for all your advice. I can't wait for my Piazza recording to arrive. I just hope the show makes it to the UK and they give Victoria Clark's role to the amazingly talented Joanna Riding.

1. The Light in the Piazza

Other:
DRS
Little Women
Avenue Q

I actually have all of these OBC recordings, and I definitely listen to Piazza the most. I love Piazza, and it's definitely a recording that you need in your Broadway collection.
