I was 13 when I saw Andrew Lloyd Webber's Bombay Dreams on Broadway and I honestly can't remember the plot of that show. I remember the song "Shakalaka Baby" and still get it stuck in my head, along with "How Many Stars", and, I do recall some other tunes because they were rip-offs of real Bollywood songs. My best friend growing up was Indian, so, I watched a lot of Bollywood. So, I still recall a lot of the music because it was sampled from real Bollywood songs, but... I can't for the life of me remember the plot.

So I can remember buying my ticket for the 1998 revival of "On the Town" more then I can actually remember the show itself. I don't THINK it was bad but I can't remember a damn thing about it really. Maybe I recall a little bit about a subway set piece or something but lord that's about it. But I remember I got am amazing deal on the tickets at TKTS cus it was still in previews back when they still had preview ticket prices AND it was 50% off so I think I only paid like $32 for it.

In college in the late 70’s I saw Bernard Hughes in “Da”, thats the only think I remember except I didn’t understand a word they said and fell asleep in the middle of the first act.

Tuck Everlasting - If I didn't still have the Playbill I would have forgotten about it entirely.

Travesties- I have no idea what was happening during this show and was tuned out, at some point I gave up on comprehending and was counting imaginary ceiling tiles.

It's that show with what's-his-name and what's-her-face...you remember?  They traveled to that place and sung about that other place they really wanted to go to.  All the songs were either hippity-hop or generic pop songs, with a bit of Puccini arias thrown in for good measure.  The choreography was by someone, the sets and costumes by someone else and the direction was by that guy whose name is on the tip of my tongue.  I DO remember that Paul Gemignani was the musical arranger/conductor.

The show is currently in its 50th year on Broadway.

I am sad to say this, but PRINCE OF BROADWAY.    I saw it, am sure I watched the whole thing, vaguely remember a nice Tony Yazbek number and wondering why they chose the numbers they chose.   I was tremendously disappointed by the show, especially because I was sure there was something more profound and exhilarating to say and show about Hal Prince's work....

...and then I saw the GREAT PERFORMANCES documentary about Prince last week and it only underlined my disappointment with PRINCE OF BROADWAY.     The documentary was intriguing and exciting, and I learned a ton while being entertained and enlightened.   The Broadway show-- I know it was a completely different project from the documentary-- was none of those things.  A tremendously talented cast, great material to choose from....and, yet, NO SHOW.
