Which Shows Should I See??

Hey!!!
So I'm going to New York next weekend for two days for a quick trip to see some shows but I can't decide on what to see.....here are some things
1) Only musicals (I love plays don't get me wrong but for next weekend I'm feeling very musicaly)
2)I've seen School of Rock, Wicked, Chicago, Lion King, and Aladdin
3) I'm not interested in seeing Charlie and the Chocoalte Factory, Phantom, Cats, or Great Comet

The most I can see is three so what should I go to??
So far I'm thinking Anastasia (even though reviews have not been well stellar) and Miss Saigon?? Who's seen it? Is it worth it?? I've heard extremely mixed things about it whereas some loved it and others found it super boring and dull......also I've never seen Book Of Mormon and I've heard that it's really good and it looks really good what about that?? Hello Dolly?? How expensive are tickets?

Hello, Dolly! is a truly special production. If you can make it happen, go.

Otherwise, I'd say definitely do not miss Groundhog Day and Miss Saigon.

Anastasia is led by an unbelievable Christy Altomare and has a few thrilling moments, but honestly, unless the show itself means something special to you (like it did for me, as a '90s kid), I'd say skip it.

Also consider Come From Away (a very special new musical), Book of Mormon (a classic), and, even though I know you don't want plays, The Play That Goes Wrong is gut-bustingly funny.

I'm in that very small minority of people who enjoyed Anastasia without having any childhood connection with the animated movie. Lol. I've seen the musical 3x and will probably see it again in the fall. The cast is incredible, the costumes are breath-taking, the new songs are fun - it's a great experience all around.

I've only seen Hello Dolly with Donna. The entire production was outstanding. I'd love to see it with Bette just to be able to compare, but I do not have the cash money for that venture haha. I'd recommend a Donna show if you'll be here for one.

If you are interested, you can try the Groundhog Day lotto. We won something crazy like 4 days in a row. Not my favorite musical, but a night of mindlessness for very little money.

Definitely Miss Saigon! It is a fantastic show that will blow you away. Although you should see it on Saturday because they don't have shows on Sunday.

Splurge and see if you can get a ticket for Dear Evan Hansen. With Ben Platt. Better than Hamilton in my opinion.

Hello Dolly is also a classic show. And if you're seeing it with Donna, you'll be seeing an amazing show with a highly decorated and amazing Broadway actress backed up by the same incredible cast you'd see behind Midler.

My friend and and I loved Bandstand, as well.

Mormon will be around forever. Somewhere. I'd save my money on that and put it into DEH. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely see Anastasia and Hello Dolly! Both are my top two favorite shows of all time, they are so beautiful and funny and genuine pieces of musical theatre. Anastasia is just a beautiful piece all around, the music is amazing, the cast is stellar, and the costumes/sets and story? All fantastic, you won't be disappointed. Hello Dolly is another great show, I'm looking forward to seeing it on Tuesday with Donna. The music is, again, so beautiful, and the costumes and sets and cast are so great.

I really wanted to like Anastasia but it did not impress me. I thought one or two songs were memorable and some of the projections were very effective, but otherwise it felt like a B-grade Disney knockoff. It wants to be a serious historical drama, but it's too saccharine and "princess-y" at heart to pull it off. However, many disagree with my opinion so your mileage may vary.

I've seen this production of Miss Saigon three times and will probably be going back once more before it closes. It's an epic, sweeping, and largely sung-through musical, and although it's not perfect (I think there are some pacing issues and some of the lyrics are less than poetic), it features a heart-wrenching story brought to life by a huge cast and spectacular production values. Worth the price of admission for "This Is the Hour" and "Kim's Nightmare" alone.

The Book Of Mormon is absolutely hilarious, but also resolutely irreverent and therefore may be offensive to more conservative individuals. The humor can be quite crude at times, but if you enjoy the bite of nothing-is-off-limits wit and satire, this is a laugh-a-minute show.

Hello Dolly doesn't particularly interest me so I haven't seen it, but a few more shows that I have seen and recommend without reservation are:

Come From Away - Probably the best show of the season for me. Great book and lyrics and a refreshingly unique score, all performed by a fantastic ensemble cast. You will leave with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

Groundhog Day - Probably the most underrated show of the season for me. I'm not a Bill Murray fan and never saw the film, so I bought tickets somewhat reluctantly and based solely on Tim Minchin's prior work, Matilda the Musical (which I loved). Mr. Minchin's score and lyrics are paired with quirky production design to take the audience on a fantastic journey from the sardonic to the heartwarming, and Andy Karl's performance in the lead is not to be missed.

Dear Evan Hansen - If you have any interest in this one, see it now while Ben Platt is still in the title role. Although I didn't think the show as a whole was as uniformly excellent as Mr. Platt (I found the tone uneven and had some issues with the plot), his performance will absolutely go down in history as one of the greatest. Believe the hype; he's mind-blowing.
