Xanadu
Legally Blonde
Hairspray
Spamalot
Spring Awakening
For me it's Legally Blonde, one of the most entertaining shows I've seen. I'm going to miss it.

For me, Spamalot with Xanadu second. Hairspray was fun, but I found flaws in it, and I didn't care for Legally Blonde. I have never seen Spring Awakening.

Spring Awakening! Least surprising other than Legally Blonde, but much more upsetting for me. It's my favorite show other than In The Heights, and it's closing on my birthday...
Spamalot by far... it's my favourite show. And I'm actually still getting over Les Miserables closing, which is kind of pathetic.
I'm also rather devastated about Hairspray, because I'd gone so far as to make an evil plan that would feature Michael Ball coming over to Broadway to play Edna when he was through with his West End run. This evil plan would involve me taking a road trip up to Broadway with some of my girlfriends, see the show, stagedoor afterward, and get Michael Ball, who we all fangirl like creepy middle-aged women, to autograph a really old picture of him wearing leather pants and holding a microphone stand in his crotch.
Now my evil plan has been foiled.
'Sweeney Todd' revival. If only it had held on six months more.
rent.
as expected as it was, it still was very upsetting.

Xanadu by far. My life was shattered by its closing and I have become a freebasing alcoholic.
Spring Awakening. Although, now the rights will be available soon, right?

Legally Blonde and Hairspray are pretty much tied for me.

I was sad because I like the show, but mainly I was very disappointed that a small, quirky, original musical just could not find an audience among the huge spectacle-driven musicals based on movies.
I would have said Xanadu, but I only recently got acquainted with the [tos] cast recording (I know) and I think it would have been amazing to watch it. Pity I won't get a chance too.

Such an amazing show. Too short a run!
i think every show that has been closing lately is pretty disapointing
This economy really is taking a bad toll on NY theatre
i mean i thought id see Hairspray get to 10 years and spring awakening to 5
Xanadu was a shock too.
and pulling the date earlier is just redic.
Its just a shame for everything.
for the actors. for the fans. for the tourists.
i mean now its kind of a waste for shows to be opening now :-
i mean all of the new big shows that people are looking to are going to be in big houses in which they wont be able to fill
its just a complete shame.
I dont care about politics at all but all i do know is that someone, anyone better fix this economy ASAP
and may i also add that hairspray is a big shock and disapointment because a show like that def does have ways to keep itself open
i mean they always have put stars in the show and with the popular movie filled with stars, all they havta do is pop Sir Efron in and they can sell every seat.
but really there are ways that are like this that can keep a show open a bit longer
and especially spray
its disapointing to see that it didnt even try

[Title of Show] Yes, it was expected but it was such an amazing show and it's not fair. The closing night of [Title of Show] was probably the best theater experience I have ever witnessed. It was absolutely incredible. Of all the shows that is the biggest one for me. Another of course is Rent, it had an amazing run and I thank it for getting me into this wonder world of Broadway.
Mel Brooks.....WHEN Will you surrender?
All of them are wonderful.
They will all be missed.
My biggest loss is Forbidden Broadway which is also closing on Jan 18th. I love Hairspray and Xanadu and will also miss Legally Blonde.
I am sad about all.
All of them. To me, the loss of the art is just as saddening and crippling as the job-losses suffered by our New York talent.

Spring Awakening, for sure. I think Broadway will really lose something special when it closes. I really hope they release the rights soon. Since it was such a fan driven show, it would be nice to see the fans get a chance to actually perform in it somewhere.
Spring Awakening and [title of show].
Glory Days
but seriously, folks
Spring Awakening
I was all like, wtf?

all i can say.. is that *in a who really cares way* so many of these shows are closing on my birthday Jan. 18th.. and I don't like to think of so many people working in an industry i love losing their jobs.
so incredibly sad.
