Hm.... Currently open?....
I'd love to play Olive or Logainne in Spelling Bee! And Penny or Amber in Hairspray! Elle in LB would be a really fun role too! And of course the two big cliche roles that most every female in the world wants to play, Elphaba or Glinda. And maybe Ariel too!Mimi in Rent would be cool too, if I wasn't so incredibly white.
Most of the other roles I'd do anything to be in are closed. Ms.Lovett, Cathy from The Last 5 Years, Amneris in Aida...all roles that I desperately want to play! And I would just kill to be in Company!!!

I have a few ...
Velma Kelly in Chicago
Janet Van de Graff in The Drowsy Chaperone (Show Off is like the best number / song ever. Period.)
Diana, Maggie or Val ... or really any girl from A Chorus Line
Eponine from Les Miserables (On My Own is AMAZING!!)
Jill Paice's character (I think Niki?) Ok, so I would play any girl, those dances look soo much fun! in Curtains
In Legally Blonde I would just want to be in the ensemble, those dances are awesome! Esp the whole jump rope one!
Sandy in Grease (don't hate me, haha) but I like grew up on that movir musical, it would be like a dream come true for me.
And as for shows that closed ...
Jo March from Little Women (Astonishing is like my favorite song. Ever.)
Millie Dillmount from Thoroughly Modern Millie (I basically HAVE to play her one day. Sutton Foster literally changed my life when I saw her play Millie in 2003. If it wasn't for her I don't know if I'd want to be on Broadway as badly as I do. So yea, that is like my number one DREAM ROLE!!)
~Darci
Wow guys these are all great! And in NO WAY should talent/gender/race weigh in with your choices (although I'm definately finding myself wanting to live out my fantasy of playing Elle Woods!)
I'll add a couple more
Cassie in A Chorus Line
Celie in Color Purple
I'll also change this up a bit: NOW you can post which show (but really only list your top top one or two) that you would be in (and the role too of course)......past or present: GO!
Lola in Damn Yankees
I'm gonna stick with my first two.
Lizzie in 110 in the Shade
Man (Woman) in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone
When I was in high school and college I DREAMED of playing Eponine in Les Miserables...but I wouldn't want to do it in this revival.
And...I'll add Maureen in Rent. Just cause.

Cervantes/Don Q in Man of La Mancha
I would have to say..
Link in Hairspray has always been a top pick of mine..
Emmet in Legally Blonde is a current one.
Tobias in Sweeney Todd (The Original, not Doyle)
Morales in A Chorus Line
Roxie in Chicago
Eponine in Les Mis
Christine in Phantom of the Opera
Mimi in Rent
Galinda in Wicked
...but really, what does it matter that I'm not a belter? That's not THAT important...
HAhah feline, totally! I mean who needs a rockin belt to play Mimi?...
I'm gonna copy you and say Roxie in Chicago...opposite Bebe of course. And with Usher as Billy Flynn just because he would amuse me every night. (p.s. Melanie can understudy me if she wants...don't worry, I never call out)
Christine Colgate In "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" - That show looked like so much fun!
Elle Woods - "Legally Blonde" too.

What a funny thread! I just, recently, asked this question to Sam Harris and his answer was "Mama Rose".
If I could drop into any show that's currenly running it would probably have to be Eponine in Les Miserables. A common answer I know. But ever since I was 13 I've just loved that character and her songs.
Now if only I could sing...
lol
The Phantom in "The Phantom of the Opera", Graf von Krolock in "Tanz der Vampire", Sweeney Todd in "Sweeney Todd", Proprietor in "Assassins", and Count Fosco in "The Woman in White".
Chicago - either Roxie or Velma would be fine
The Drowsy Chaperone - title role
As for closed shows, I think it would have been fun to play Amy in Company.

Mr. Todd in ... Ya know or Paul in Company.
Currently on Broadway Anybody in
Spamalot. It would just be too much fun.
Truthfully, I'd settle for any show, any part with a name. For my third grade play, I was 'Girl in Hat', which I've never quite recovered from.
But I'd love Velma Kelly in Chicago, any of the women in Les Miserables, and, as for closed shows, Catherine in Proof.
If I were a girl and about 20 years older, Dot in Sunday in the Park with George, or Logainne in Spelling Bee. Or, for my own gender, in about 30 years Engineer in Miss Saigon. But of course, I'm white skinned so if I do play the role I'll have Actors Equity up my back!

I would love to play:
Che in Evita
Judus in Jesus Christ
Mark in Rent
Boq or Fieryo in Wicked
Galilaio (sp?) in We Will Rock You
If gender weren't a problem:
Elphaba in Wicked, but would also kill to play Glinda!
Elle Woods in Legally Blonde
Eva in Evita
Marks Mom in RENT (don't ask)... or Amneris in Aida!
Why do you want to play Mark's Mom?
nah, just kidding.
Laurie in OKLAHOMA!
I would love to play Abigail, Martha, or Dickinson (in an all-female production, naturally) in 1776. That's my ultimate goal. Others are Eva in Evita, Miss Pennywise (when I'm older) in Urinetown, Christine or Jolene in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the Witch in Into the Woods, Aldonza (older) in Man of La Mancha, Mrs. Lovett (older) or the Beggar Woman in Sweeney, and so forth. If I could dance I would love to be Georgia in Curtains, Velma in Chicago, Anita in West Side Story, etc etc.
damn ya'll.
id take what i could get.
i know this is original but it would be fun to be elphie.
anything from SA would make me the happiest though.
I'd be "Henrik" in "A Little Night Music"!!!!!!

Oh, I just remembered I'd looooooove to be Amneris in Aida
Javert in Les Miserables from what's running right now.
Although I think if I could Dance, I'd love to be Billy Flynn...
Dream Role:
Frollo in Der Glockner
Leading Actor Joined: 12/31/69
In dream-world where I could be a better dramatic actor and morph in multiple races, all of which are different than the one I am now:
Link in Hairspray
Collins in RENT
CC in Dreamgirls
Amos in Chicago
Realistically:
Soloist #2 in RENT
....that's about it
