GirlfriendfromCanada, yeah, it is sad how many of us have lost track of our RENT experiences. If I had to guess, I'd say between 50 and 60 times, but could be more.
I do have all of my 32 wicked ticket stubs, and playbills.

Rent - 50+
I've seen other shows more than once but none close to the number of times I've seen Rent. I've seen every North American cast as well as in London when the OBC members were there.
Too bad crazy Rent fan Joel doesn't post here. He'd blow everyone else out of the water because he saw Rent 1000 times. :)
hairspray 14 times..soon to be 16
I saw the original Broadway production of A CHORUS LINE at the Shubert Theater 39 times.
Totie Fields did Dolly?????? Was she wonderful?
Awww, Joel's a good guy. Last I heard, he was up to 1100 (but I think he's only seen the show once or twice in the past year)

Yeah, he moved out of the city not long after his 1000th show. I actually saw him at the theater over the summer. He always seemed like a pretty good guy.
I saw the original MY SISTER EILEEN in full about 2 times and I saw parts of the second and third act about 200 times. What a great perforamnce by Shirley Booth. I don't care what anyone says about Roz or Donna. Booth was the real thing!
Miriam
Oh, and my friend saw Boy from Oz exactly 200 times (yes, she timed the last show to be her 200th). Always from the first three rows.
RENT and Beauty and the Beast are tied at 3 times each, but by March 5th it'll be 11 for Beauty and the Beast... don't ask.
Millie is at the top for me
I'm in the 40s for Les Miz. I haven't seen any other show that's made it into the 20s or 30s yet.
Wow, it really amazes me that anyone can see a show as many times as a lot of you have. I saw Caroline, or Change 3 times recently, and that was unusual for me (because side orchestra tickets were being sold unbelievably cheap). I can understand wanting to go back a second or third time, or seeing a show a fourth or even fifth time because of cast changes, but after that??? I do enjoy seeing completely different productions of a favorite show, though. Great to see something with a different cast, sets, choreography, etc. I guess that's why I enjoy regional revivals and small theater productions. To those of you who see the same show on Broadway 10, 20, 30, 50 times...doesn't that get a bit pricey, and wouldn't it be nice to see something different for a change? Just wondering.
Yep, it gets pricey after awhile. Lotto is a good thing. :)
And most of us do see lots of different stuff. But if you go to the theatre two times a week or so, you tend to gravitate towards your "favorite" shows.
Pricey? Not really. Discount seats are great (especially if you fly to the midwest), and understudies and wacky shows where things break help create a little variety.
Pricey?... not really. I think I might have paid full price for "MOLM" - ($100) maybe once. The rest were discounts. As far as seeing other shows... we do. I have seen "Les Mis" around 15 times, "Phantom" the same amount.. "Rent" around 10 times.
"Aida"- 15, "B & B"- 10...."Ave Q"- 5... and we try to see every show at least once. Definitely not locked in on one show.
Les Miserables- 30 on broadway, 1 on tour, 1 in London
Avenue Q- 23 on Broadway
Taboo- 8 on Broadway, 1 on UK tour
Urinetown- 8 on Broadway
Chicago- 8 on Broadway

TheGaIsSilent has a good point, and I'm glad to someone else put it that way. I sometimes see two or three shows a week. So while I have seen one particular show a very large number of times (and have been a repeat offender on about half of the others I've seen), you just end up gravitating to your favorites. It's not like I'm choosing to only see one show, I've currently seen every musical running save Spamalot, a good number of the current plays and a fairly good-sized handful of Off-Broadway. It really comes down to "hmm, do I want to spend $25 on a movie and snacks, rent Twister for 45th time or go see one of my favorite shows live?". And Amen to the discount tickets/rush policies!
