Movie version? Of the Musical? Here's hoping they don't *bleep* it up.

>>"One thing I never got was, why don't the characters use English accents? This story is set in England, there are titled characters, etc. The only character in the three times I've seen the show performed who had an accent was Lucy (and of course, it was Cockney)."

For the same reason Les Miz and Phantom don't use french accents, it just isn't nessecary.

Uh, then why bother having Lucy use one? THAT's unnecessary.

Anthony Warlow is the best Jekyll/ Hyde hands down. Plus, the Concept has more songs and really tells the story very nicely.

However, the lyrics and orchestrations and some arrangements are better on the Broadway recording.

So, to each his own.

I like the studio version. I was lucky enough to see the show prior to its opening on Broadway and was able to hear live a lot of music that was cut for the broadway production. IMO, they butchered it for Broadway. I was also lucky enough to see the cool mirror effect during the confrontation that was removed prior to Broadway. (Due to a disagreement with the production and the effects creator from what I heard. I am sure someone here knows the exact details!)

II agree, i guess she has the accent for the same miranda richardson uses an accent in the film version of Phantom, but no one really knows why that is either.

Yeah it's like in movies where if it takes place in Europe, no matter what country, they use English accents to show you that it is in Europe.

It was cut from the Broadway show, but it was originally the song Lucy sings at the bar, instead of "Good and Evil."

Anthony Warlow singing "This is the Moment" is a definitive moment for anyone. Especially that last note. Complete eargasm.

I like the Broadway just because it's nice to hear what everyone else heard when they saw the Broadway production. Although, I cannot wait for the Resurrection CD. It sounds great. I love Kate Shindle's voice.
