The show def needs a love thread since all too much lately there has been a bunch of negativity about it and it's cast. And I personally think it is the best show that I've seen in a long time... Like Q says, "Did we mention we won the Tony!??!"

I love that more people are getting into the show. It was so odd when I would talk about it before, because no one liked it, and I felt like I was chilling with the old people when I would go and see it. Now, so many people my age are going to see the show, and loving it. It's a show for everyone.

I'm hopefully rushing tomorrow, and rushing Saturday matinee (with fishergirl) as well.

I love Jersey Boys!

I felt the same way after I saw it in November!!


I really can't write down my feelings for this show and the cast. I love them all in their own special ways!!

And don't worry about the title of the thread being dorky, I'm sure the boys would love it!!

Also, elphie...I'm going to rush next Wednesday matinee...would you be interested in joining?!

And yes, Peter Gregus is awesome!!! He uttered that quote at the first performance after the Tonys to the group I went with. He and Jen Naimo were in love with us that night!!

Bumping up this thread!

Brought a friend to JBz last night (my eighth time, her second). Dominic was on as Joe Pesci, and was great! The show was fantastic, as always, but with a very dead audience. They hardly clapped for anything!

I'm going back tomorrow with fishergirl, who has never seen the show before (!!!). It will have to be my last one for a while, because I have just taken on my third job. Argh.

Anyways, spread the love!

@Popular How do you define old people? Over 30?

I saw it twice in November when visiting and was absolutely bowled over by it. The show has such collective energy as well as great individual performances. And speaking as an "old person" I was taken back to my teens.

Great to hear that the show is now pulling in youngsters. Presumably the music has held up well over the years and doesn't sound dated to your ears?

Yay for the Jersey Boys love. I love Jersey Boys as well. I've always enjoyed The Four Seasons and grew up listening to them so the Jersey Boys get lots of love from me (and my family.)

I don't count thirties as old people! Sorry if it sounded rude. I was heckled by a guy today because he was puzzled as to how I could love the show so much if I didn't grow up in the era.

The show was fantastic today! There were some mishaps (a horrible mic noise in a very important part, the phone onstage ringing during Christian's speech) but all was well. Christian's family was there today, and he is so adorable with them. JLY was feeling a little sick, and called out of the night show. I am happy to say that fishergirl loved it :).

Elphie is right - I absolutely LOVED this show. The fates decided we weren't meant to get student rush tickets (alarms not going off + subways not running = being about 20 minutes shy of getting tickets), so I decided to splurge and go for cancellation. Finally, a little before 1pm, the box office gods smiled upon us, and elphie and I were in possession of third row center of the mezzanine.

The show was amazing. I knew going into it that I would enjoy it, but I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. The book was absolutely incredible - funny, heartwarming, and just fantastic drama. The cast are all so ridiculously talented, and I was just so blown away by how good and solid this show is.

Going into it, all I knew was that elphie loved it, and what I saw on the Tonys - Christian is the most adorable man and won a Tony, haha, JLY won a Tony, they won Best Musical, and I knew their musical performance from the show. So basically, I was only familiar with JLY's voice...can I just say how floored I was by Daniel Reichard? That kid is amazing. Cry For Me was SO beautiful...I was SO impressed by him, and I cannot wait to see him grow and flourish as an actor. He's amazing.

Also, Christian as Tommy is just...ridiculously sexy. Heh. I adore him.

So I absolutely loved this show so much, and I am so glad that I got to see it when I did. And I'm SO HAPPY I got to see it with my darling popular_elphie!! I wouldn't want to have seen it for the first time with anyone else.
