Or if Cloris is gonna reprise Frau Blucker, why not have Gene Wilder reprise Dr. Frank? Or maybe, no, maybe Gene could play the Gene Hackman blind guy role - YES!

I read in the article that Zach Levi was gonna do it or had done it somewhere before.

Zachary Levi was offered the part but turned it down. Brian d'Arcy James did the role in the reading.

Cloris Leachman was not asked back following the reading.

Megan Mullally, Sutton Foster, and Shuler Hensley are the only people set thus far. Offers have gone out to Roger Bart and Andrea Martin to join the company, but they've got TV gigs they may take.

That said, Hank Azaria should have been their choice from the beginning.

And it's a good choice cause he's a name, but not a big enough name to turn Frankenstein into The Producers once he leaves.

I read somewhere that Brooks eventually decided that he didnt want to cast anyone that had been in the movie...

As far as Dr. F--- would love Azaria...

Just read Riedel's acticle regarding the show's casting for a second time, and didnt remember that he mentioned that Sills had auditioned for the role. (and obviously, didnt get it)

I think he would have been excellent !

According to Riedel, Raul and Sills both auditioned for Dr. F--

As far as "Inherit the Wind"--- last scheduled performance is 7/8

So, I guess he could do it, he could even leave a week or two early, I think O'Hare could be great in the role, he reminds me a lot of Gene Wilder too.

the way it's currently written the roles of the police inspector/blind man are shared by one actor..so..Wilder...No

Denis O'Hare ios too old, I think.

Norbert Butz would be a great choice.

For that matter, I think Roger Bart could play Dr. F. I'd use Jason Antoon (the bartender/husband from CONTACT) as Eyegor. He's sure got the eyes!

He could do it, if he wasn't being considered for I-Gor.

I really love the idea of Hank Azaria as Fronkensteen. I also love the idea of Douglas Sills doing it as well.

I think that if he wasn't in Curtains that David Hyde Pierce would be a fantastic Fronkensteen. Also he wasn't doing Jersey Boys, that Daniel Reichard would be a great Fronkensteen too.

Hunter will probably be one of the replacements for Fronkensteen later on, as long as Sutton isn't still in the show.

I completely agree with you on that. The last show I saw him in was Little Shop of Horrors, and I was looking forward to see him as Galahad in SpamAlot. I think that if he was going to come back to Broadway, it should be as Fronkensteen.

Just one little thing about Azaria, he would be fantastic comedic wise and acting wise, but what about his singing? I mean he admitted in some form or another that he wasn't the greatest singer in some of his interviews(see the Today show interview for SpamAlot). Do you think he would do it, I figure that Fronkensteen would have to sing alot more than Lancelot did.
