Ha, Santino had one of those squares blanced on his head for a good while.

"So house does the audience turnout look? Has it been completely packed every night?"

It is a VERY tiny theatre...only five rows.

I went on Friday night and the box office was sold-out at lunchtime, but I got the last ticket on TKTs around 6 PM. I'm pretty sure it was sold-out.

I saw so many grandparents with their grandchildren...made me smile.

"The Fantasticks" was one of the first shows I saw when I was young. I hope it has a long run so I can see it on my next trip to NYC.

It should have just stayed at its original venue. I don't know the whole story about why it closed, but it should have stayed open. This is one show that should play for a long time.

I think the rent became too much to handle at the Sullivan Street?

There were rumors that they were making the theatre a Sushi house. Last I heard, they were turning the space into condos. That breaks my heart!

watch out, DP, for the wrath of poets like NOM DE PLUME.

They were great at the park today!

I'll say it again, Santino has a BEAUTIFUL, strong voice...and it was very cute watching the "kids" sitting and watching the fathers sing.

I am seeing this show on Saturday night for the first time (I've never even heard the cast recording before). Very excited to see the world's longest running show!

Is there any kind of student rush for the show?

I don't know...the theatre is so tiny.

There is a discount code on broadwaybox for $45 tickets and I got tickets from TKTs for $40.

That's great!!!

I just got tickets for the matinee tomorrow. The box office woman is so nice.

Student tickets are sold 10-15 minutes before the show. It's whatever's available....tickets are scant during previews, so the box office lady said. Try back after the opening. They're $35, I'm told, depending on the location (don't know if that means that seats further back are less or if it's negociable.)

I am pretty sure every seat in the theatre is $75. The theatre is so TINY...there's only five rows, I think. There's a dsicount code on broadwaybox for $45 right now and it's been on TKTs a few times.

Saw yesterday's matinee...Tom Jones/Bruce was out, I hope he's okay.

I'll say it again, I have no idea why I just love this show so much, but I truly do. I thought Burke Moses was ten times better yesterday than the first time I saw it.

And that Santino...WOW! I never listened to "I Can See It" on either recordings, but I'm really looking forward to this current cast album coming out if only for Santino's beautiful rendition. I also loved his speech after "What if I prefer a diamond?" His bio says he'd done quite a bit of Shakespeare and you can tell...very strong, poised actor.

Maybe I should go back.

Nativenewyorker knows I know the seating chart in that theatre re: Who else is excited for The Fantasticks? The center has 5 rows; the sides have 7.

Tom was back in last night. There's been a nasty cold running through the backstage. Almost everyone's been out. Tom was still feeling pretty bad last night, but still did a great job!

Show is in great shape. The extra week before opening will only help.

After spending 5 years on the show in the 80's it was good to see some old friends again.

If you have never seen this show, run and see it. Again it's one of the most delightful shows in town! Beautifully written with such economy yet very textured and moving.

That's good to hear! His understudy was great, but there is something so special about having Tom up there.

I had a group of women in their 70's next to me...I was smiling to myself listening to them...they had never seen the show before, but "Lenny Briscoe was in this show for a long time so it must be good!" :)

It also makes me laugh how I heard a few people assume that the show is over when Act I ends...I heard some confused, "But it's supposed to be two hours...????" before Burke said it was the end of Act I. Updated On: 8/13/06 at 12:53 PM

Right by the staircase as you enter. It's pretty cramped in that hallway. Some of them will also be in the lobby where there is more room.
