Okay so I know this isn't technically Broadway, but I just saw Steppenwolf's production of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Arena Stage tonight and it was absolutely stunning. Quite possibly one of the best productions I have ever seen. Tracy Letts and Amy Morton are giving powerhouse performances. I really encourage everyone in the DC area to go see this before it closes next weekend. I would absolutely love for this to transfer to Broadway so more people could see the brilliance that is happening up on that stage.

Has anyone else gotten a chance to see this while it's been in DC, or during it's original run at Steppenwolf? I'd love to hear your thoughts. This was the first time I've seen the show live and I just loved it but would really appreciate to hear other people's reactions.

I saw it last Saturday. I don't have time for a well-constructed review at the mo', but Tracy Letts ate my soul.

I will be going Friday night (4-1). Any other DC theatre-goers heading over to see it?

Saw it in Chicago and had a few minor qualms but overall thought it was great. Hope you East Coasters enjoy, too.

What? Amy Morton as Martha? That sounds fantastic, the woman is pure brilliance.

Oh she really was. I didn't get to see her in August so this was really my first exposure to her and she was incredible. She and Tracy Letts had incredible chemistry. And I just don't have enough words for Tracy Letts. Just so incredible.

I wish I could get to see this. Amy Morton terrifies me.

I know you. I know you. I know you.
