Ohio. The only positive thing: many Broadway performers are from here, including Jen Gambatese (Hairspray), Michelle Federer (Wicked), Mitchel Michael Federan (The Boy From Oz), Gavin Creel (Millie), etc.

I'm not in New York, but the next best place for theatre training---Ann Arbor, MI! Woot Woot! U of M Musical Theatre represent! Gavin Creel, Erin Dilly, Hunter Foster, Barrett Foa, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Andrew Lippa, Celia Keenan-Bolger (and her little brother who I am best friends with, Andrew) and the list goes on and on...
When Audra McDonald came to sing here and did a masterclass with our students, someone asked her what her advice would be to someone who wants to go straight to NYC to start a career, what she said in response "Go to Michigan first"

BIGGEST PET PEEVE: New York City is broken into 'boroughs.' Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island, Bronx...all are 'the city.'

Jersey Girl here, but i am closer to broadway then alot of new yorkers are. It takes me about 30 mins to get in.

Hey, this is great, getting to know where all of you are. I have a qestion for the New Yorkers on the board and those who travel there frequently.

As I've written earlier, I'm in Arkansas and try to go to NY at least once a year. I'm planning on coming this year during Christmas and have been checking out hotels. I've never stayed in one called THE TIME HOTEL?? What's your opinions of this hotel? Some of the rates I've found online seem really good. I'd appreciate your input and advice!

Im a future new yorker! =D but for now, i live in chicago *hense my signiture* The theatre here is pretty good, but the best part is we get a lot of pre-broadway works. Wow, ive said that too much.
