Actually it's this bizarre freak occurrence where different people have different opinions on the same performance! Imagine that!

it's also what happens when you have a performer as divisive as Patti. a lot of people have very strong reactions to her, both positively and negatively. I can definitely understand not liking her, but I...guess I find it hard to imagine someone who is so terrible in their role that they do NOTHING right. so I think some people, who don't like Patti, go a little extreme.

or maybe that's just me.

Yeesh, I almost couldn't wade through the sarcasm to post it was so thick!

Different opinions. Yes, I've got that, thank you. I am still surprised by such vivid hate for what is widely considered a magnificent and tour de force performance(**coming from one who is NOT always a fan of LuPone's work) and I was simply commenting on that.

Forgiveness please. I'll move out of the thread with my head down in shame now and "A Director" and "bertandrew2" can fling vitriol and have their way with it. Night!

Not replace Patti because she is to young but in 15-20 years I would love to see Stephanie J. Block as Mama Rose!
