Posted: 10/9/08 at 12:29pmIt'd be pretty difficult to replace her... do you think it will stay open after she leaves? After all, the show is called "PATTI LUPONE gypsy".

LOL, I was annoyed at another post-Patti thread, but the Susan Blackwell suggestion made the thread worth opening. Thanks!

How about Gina Kreiezmar from Forbidden Broadway? That closes in January, and she can play Mama Rose exactly like Patti.

Posted: 10/9/08 at 12:56pmWhat if they got someone else named Patti? That way they wouldn't have to change the whole title of the show. Just part of it. Maybe Patti LaBelle?

If we applied that principle to all of the threads ... there wouldn't be many left

Posted: 10/9/08 at 1:59pmI second Tonya Pickins. After seeing "Lot's Wife" her Rose's Turn would be great. I think Ebersole would be amazing too. I think the show will close when Patti leaves. There's no reason to keep it open. The revival was started specifically for her, the entire cast of leads won Tonys. To extend the production without them would just be sad and run the show into the ground.

Posted: 10/9/08 at 2:02pmI think we need an all black cast GYPSY. If they can do it with Hello Dolly, & Guys & Dolls, they can do it with Gypsy.

Posted: 10/9/08 at 2:03pmI think we should just let this production close when Patti leaves and do an all new revival in three years like usual.

I agree with Higgins!
There is no reason to keep this show open without the current cast intact.
They were the reason to see the show...nothing more...nothing less.

Harvey Firestein or Jon Lovitz doing his Harvey Firestein impression.

Jon Lovitz's impression of Harvey Firestein. He did get quite angry at this time inparticular. He came in and was very understanding and asked if he could do a show like "Homosexual/Not Homosexual" apparently. That's what Jon Lovitz says.
