TooDarnHot. He will star in the musical with his best buddy Aaron Tveit. But, he is currently on vacation with Aaron and Stephen Sondheim's Boyfriend so they can't make the announcment untill the 3 of them get back from Paris.
He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.

I don't know if she's actually Latina and she's probably too old, but I would cast Elena Shaddow.

If they want to go young, and (at least relatively) unknown, I'd go for Krysta Rodriguez. She's latina, and captivating on stage. I'm not sure she can sing the role, so it may well be a moot point, but if she can, her.

I would cast Nadia Bjorlin, who not only looks the part and is close enough to the right age, but also has a crystal clear lyric soprano voice similar to Marni Nixon, the greatest singing Maria of them all.

^Has she done anything other than Passions? Her acting was kind of awful during my brief time watching the show years ago; but then again, there wasn't much that can be done with the writing. She does have a lovely voice, though.

Wasn't she not on Passions but on Days of our Lives? Her taking off her glasses at the dance with Phillip...I still remember that.

Actually, Bjorlin was on Days of Our Lives, a show that makes the writing on Passions seem like Shakespeare by comparison. Bjorlin has sung Tonight and I Have A Love in a concert here in Southern California and her performance was simply beautiful. She definitely has the ideal voice for Maria and her acting in two short films was quite good.
