Why Is the Wicked Ensemble Totally New?

Noticed a whole new ensemble (mostly) when I last saw the show. Where did all the regulars, Jan Neuberger, Walter O'Neill, etc. go?

It's a legit question. Why would people, who most likely weren't fired, leave a hit show, with no announced plans for the future? Take the check.

Neuberger is still with the show. She is just on leave for the summer and is scheduled to return in the fall.

Alot of OBC ensemble members (like Keisha Howard and Ioana Alfonso) leave and come back, so I am sure you'll recognize some old cast members from time to time..

Um my question is why did they change the costumes? The friggen Emerald city costumes are ugly now.

Wanna Be A Foster, that statement was totally uncalled for. WICKED does not by any stretch of the imagination "suck."

I have always found the ONE SHORT DAY costumes interesting and distinct. The changes have added to the mystique, the outlandishness of the Citizens and are more Ozmopolitan

As for the original ensemble members, Kristi Cates is Elphaba in Chicago and Derrick Williams has had great success on tour as Fiyero. Eden Epinosa- well look at her now

Oh god, I am SOOOOO sick of this friggin Wicked argument. Ok, here's the deal. Wicked is not my favorite musical. However, much of it is still quite impressive. I understand that a lot of people don't like it. It is possible for you to not like a musical for many reasons, but by no stretch of the imagination is it valid for anyone to say that "Wicked sucks". If Wicked actually sucked, it would not be open. You not liking it, and it sucking are two VERY different things.

Ten bucks says the new Emerald City costumes are a lot cheaper to build and that is why they were changed.

Well that totally happened to the Glinda dress...they went from lace to like plastic.

Also why did they put the tuttu under Glinda's school uniform. Poor Kate Reidners can't get away from Dainty June.

So what...I sing, you are VERY rude and need to grow up. Yes I used the word Ozmopolitan. I am a fan of the show, it is widely known to the fans and used in the show. We are talking about WICKED, so I used it. Just becasue YOU may not like the show, it does not mean it "sucks."

Even POPULAR - pun intended- shows like to find ways with saving a dollar. With all the new people, it may have worked better and faster to have completely new designs for the new Citizens.

Some people are saying that the new designs for some of the costumes in ONE SHORT DAY are "ugly." Just new and different.

They made them blue. Joking
