Posted: 1/9/06 at 9:05pmBorn2, it's noted that she didn't even want to take the standby position to begin with. But, her agent thought it would be a good move, so she did. Then she took the lead gig. She wanted to concentrate on her solo recording career even before getting involved w/ WICKED; now, she has that chance. Hope that helps.

Elphaba, that made me laugh...I'll say it again. I love my BWW smartasses.
She did the show for more than a year--she was an understudy previous to being Elphaba full time.
