Hi guys~ I've noticed when I check the profiles of those on Broadway World message board, not much is inputed. I notice this because I want to be sure of the type of person I may be speaking to. I'm 29 years old, and although those under 18 have valuable things to say, I don't feel comfortable sending PMs. Sometimes I feel "wierd" when I find out I'm speaking to a minor: as young as 13 or 14.
Like I said, I think young people have great insight and are valuable to the theater community.
So I just want to encourage people to place a little more in their profile :)
I'm probably on my own on this, but what do you think?

I always think everyone really looks like their avatars. I'm very naive.
I look exactly like mine.
Oh, wait - I look exactly AT mine. A lot.
yerah i look just like mine...wait no i just want him! :-P
i look exactly like mine too :)
AND i have information in my profile!
I look like mine too.
Actually, I have not figured out how to add a pic yet.
maybe we should start a threat asking people to post an avatar ... geez
I guess the answer is not to send PMs until you've read enough postings to get a general idea of who people are. I know I'm always surprised when someone lets slip that they're an 18 year old girl when I've spent two months thinking they were George Hearn.
HA! you fell for it...IT WAS ME!
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHAHAHAHAH!!

wildcat, that is some scary sh*t right there.
See? That's what I'm saying!
I personally enjoy my annonymity.. (well as much as I can still keep at this point) I figure that those who talk to me can figure out a great deal about me. I have nothing to hide, so I dont intentionally mislead people.. I just dont want to post all about me for god and everyone to see..
Maybe it's just me..
Rath Darling you are drooling over your avatar again.. I thought we discussed this..
What? I'm only allowed to drool over you?
Well no of course not.. just mainly me..
I'm ok with annonymity...I just don't like getting invested in conversation, to find out there is a huge age gap between us. I was thinking, if I had a kid posting messages and getting responses from grown men, I'd be pretty nervous.
But annonymity is understood!

Well, really, cam, LOOK at her. Even you must be able to appreciate the personification of Gaelic beauty that is the McG.
Yes She is indeed lovely.. I'm just being an attention whore..
Go back to your drooling..
*drools*
**hands Rath a towel**
Just so you dont fry your keyboard dear..
I know what you mean. But I'd rather enjoy the benefits of an interesting conversation before I break the horrible news that I am several hundred years old. I've already had a couple of folks head for the hills, but conversely I've met a couple of terrific nine year olds who have every album Eartha Kitt ever recorded....
I'm with you... I do get confused with the whole *avatar* thing (I'd never heard that word before until I came to this board). I end up putting my *idea* of someone's personality on their photo, and then they change the photo and really messes with my mind.
